Took a little while to figure out where it was going but once it did, I was hooked.
The story really got more interesting toward the end and I can't wait to see was the author comes up with for the next one!

Poor Narration distracts from story

I enjoyed other audio titles from this author and was looking forward to this one. Unfortunately Angel Clark's weird narration just ruins it. Her cadence of reading is just so weird. As if she's a news anchor reporting a story. I just got thru book 1 of the 3 and honestly, I can't keep going.
As for the story, it didn't feel as good as the Easterling's other but it could just be the bad narration threw me off. Ugh, just so so bad.

It's not horrible but there is a lot of cringey dialog straight from Twilight. The first couple books definitely follow a Twilight format. The main character Tara has a lot of long winded inner turmoil over her two loves, werewolf Wes (Edward) and hunter Alex (Jacob).
I did end up liking the science vs destiny part of the plot. Books 3 thru 5 are my favorites. As the series went on the story forced a deviation from Twilight and it became more original which needed to happen.
Although, quite a few times I found myself yelling at Tara to stop being a stupid bitch and to just get on with it already. Ugh. A lot of cringe but I committed to the series and I laughed out loud a few times. I really enjoyed a number of characters, my favorites being Cambria and Cord. I could take it or leave it. It won't be on my repeat list though.
