I'm new to this genre, but is it really so hard to write good smut?
I don't know how people can tolerate Teddy Hamilton's cheesy off-brand Christian Slater impression.
We're expected to believe this classy Bran guy is dating an absolute bimbo? Laughably absurd narration included. On that note, I think this author just hates women, based on how she writes them.
Bran's pet name is Lotus Flower? Just, stupid.
The aggression in the first few sexual encounters is cringy and borderline non-consensual.
There's no nice way to put it, I'm sorry. This was so stupid that I feel dumber for having listened to it. And worse, it put me in a bad mood. This is on par with cheesy 90's scripted porn, only longer and less titillating.

19 chapters before any spicy content. 19! The writing just isn’t good enough for that. The main characters, all cops, are terribly boring. I kept wondering why one of the leads is names God. The other Day. It’s distracting and kind of stupid.

I have never rolled my eyes as much as I have listening to the first three hours of this audiobook. It’s just dumb. No other way to say it. I kept waiting for a sex scene because otherwise why would you read/listen to this? If you’re looking for titillation watch porn or read Sarina Bowen. If you’re looking for a good story read *literally* anything else.

Only a sociopath would write the story by Annabella Stone which includes using the blood of a horribly disfigured dead soldier as lube for anal sex. Just, gross. If that is erotic to you, you should probably be in jail. I wish I could unhear this truly disgusting audiobook.
