A truly satisfying second installment in the Red Mars saga. The broad development of modern concepts in a wide range of scientific disciplines continues to be mid expanding, providing a believable and exhilarating ride through a Mars development process that is incredibly convincing. Again, Elon Musk eat your out!

Elon Musk eat your heart out. Red Mars takes the best of mankind's achievements in science, projects them forward to what they might logically develop into as applied science in space exploration, colonization and terraforming to build a wonderful Mars saga. Makes you truly wish you could be a part of it!

Too long with an often plodding story. However, as always, great concepts weaving in science of today projected into convincing future developments. Too much emphasis on politics.

A much shorter version of Baker's Ancestral Journeys, but with a lot more attention to the impacts of disease and plagues. Again, A lot of opinion at times without great regard to the facts. Not a lot new, other than how he chooses to interpret things.

An excellent overview of the dark ages with considerable detail. Unfortunately, at times highly, but obviously opinionated. All in all, exceptionally well done.

As pointed out in this book, we are in all respects a comedy of errors - in body, mind, socially and societal. It takes a new look at it all from a unique perspective crossing many disciplines to shed light on so many of the things we simply take for granted, A most interesting and fascinating Rewarding read, well written and very well narrated.

Normally a very dry subject, centered on one portion of the history of the ancient world, this history spans all of Europe, North Africa, the Middle East, India and China through much of the 5th century AD. It is comprehensive, and often in depth, while not getting bogged down in minutia ad infinitum. it has been interesting and enlightening, even to a student of history seeking a more full understanding of the the multi-cultural sweeps of history.
