Story
Meet Miriam Elizabeth Swanson, in a full-blown snit, buoyed by a fabulous cast who run the gamut from insufferable to wonderful. First is the arrival of Liz Harper, Miriam's tenant from Birmingham, who sets a new cycle in motion. Then her other tenant, Kevin, a stalwart companion with more style than Cary Grant, shakes Miriam out of her fog to see which battles are worth the fight. Next, her estranged son announces he's marrying a Jamaican woman. And what about her ex-husband, Charles, and that sordid lingerie model of his?

Almost like being there

Once again the author invites you into her world and instantly makes you feel a part of her story. Nichole does an excellent job of telling Dorothea’s story with a mix an humor and real life. I highly recommend this and any book by this author.

Story
Jack Ryan is dealing with an aggressive challenge from the Chinese government. Pawns are being moved around a global chessboard: an attack on an oil platform in Africa, a terrorist strike on an American destroyer, and a storm-tossed American spy ship that may fall into Chinese hands. It seems that President Zhao is determined to limit Ryan's choices in the upcoming G20 negotiations. But there are hints that there's even more going on behind the scenes.

A great story as expected

Marc Cameron definitely did justice to Tom Clancy with his Jack Ryan story Power and Empire. Listened to this book on a trip to and from Atlanta. The book was so engaging that I barely noticed the 6 hour drive. I love audible books for travel listening.

Story
In December 2017 the famous porn star August Ames committed suicide in a park in the Conejo Valley. It happened a day after she’d been the victim of a pile-on, via Twitter, by fellow porn professionals - punishment for her tweeting something deemed homophobic. A month later, August’s husband, Kevin, connected with Jon Ronson to tell the story of how Twitter bullying killed his wife. What neither Kevin nor Ronson realized was that Ronson would soon hear rumors and secrets hinting at a very different story - something mysterious and unexpected and terrible.

Explains the challenging life in the porn industry

I wasn't sure about this book, but it gave an honest insight of life as a porn star. As long as some offensive language ( nothing you haven't heard before) does not bother you, it was a very heart wrenching story about a young actress and how this life affected her and other young women's lives.

Tornadoes, cyclones, tsunamis… Weather can be deadly – especially when it strikes without warning. Millions of Americans could soon find themselves at the mercy of violent weather if the public data behind lifesaving storm alerts gets privatized for personal gain. In his first Audible Original feature, New York Times best-selling author and journalist Michael Lewis delivers hard-hitting research on not-so-random weather data – and how Washington plans to release it.

I was not sure what to expect by the title, but was informative, engaging, and held my interest for the entire book. To be honest, I listened to it a second time to ensure that I didn't miss anything on the first read.
