Story
On paper, Jazmine, Judith, Erin, and Sara have little in common - they’re very different people leading very different lives. And yet at book club meetings in an historic carriage house turned bookstore, they bond over a shared love of reading (and more than a little wine) as well as the growing realization that their lives are not turning out like they expected.

Enjoyed the characters, but the ending…
Reviewed: 06-22-22
I enjoyed getting to know these characters, but after a (sort of) climax, it just fizzles out. I was really hoping for a little excitement at the end. There were several characters that I’d love to know more about in a spin-off situation.

Story
When newly divorced Ivy Perkins buys an old farmhouse sight unseen, she is definitely looking for a change in her life. The Four Roses, as the farmhouse is called, is a labor of love - but Ivy didn't bargain on just how much labor. The previous family left so much furniture and so much junk that it's a full-time job sorting through all of it. At the top of a closet, Ivy finds an old Santa suit - beautifully made and decades old. In the pocket of a suit she finds a note written in a childish hand.

MKA never disappoints!

This one needs to be a Christmas movie! Absolute perfection. As always, I thought I had the storyline figured out and MKA threw in several twists I didn’t see coming!

As always, MKA told a story that drew me in and I couldn’t get through fast enough! Every detail was perfection. Kathleen’s narration was captivating and kept my interest throughout. Until next year, Ms. Andrews!

I really wanted to love it!
Reviewed: 04-03-21
I desperately wanted to love this book. An hour or so in, I debated returning it but decided to try to stick with it, thinking...hoping it would get better. Every scenario was predictable, every chapter uneventful. I couldn’t keep the neighbors straight because I was never drawn in enough to care.

As always, a delightful read (or listen!)! Twists and turns I never expected. She kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time. I’m sad it’s already over and counting down to next year’s release. Maybe while in quarantine, we’ll get another release for this year...fingers crossed!

Great story if you can look past the performance

The story was great. The narration for the character of Tessa was amazing; however, Lindsey was perhaps the worst narration I’ve ever heard. It was hard to make myself listen to those chapters, all the while counting down the minutes for the other narrator to come back!
