I have not seen the series "Bones" but I just may have to turn on the TV and take a peek at this new series based on the life of this author after listening to this book. I love it! 2 mysterys in one that really held my interest. I looked forward to the time I could spend with my iPod and headphones tuned into this book, which is generally my gauge for how good a book is. From start to finish...never a dull moment. It's not very often that I would choose an abridged version of a book, but without a choice I guess I don't know what I missed. Flowed well and held my interest for every moment.

Tyrannosaur Canyon Audiobook By Douglas Preston cover art

Without a doubt, this is one of the best listens I've gotten from Audible. Kind of like, a Tony Hillerman novel mixed with Indiana Jones and Jurraisic Park. The narrator is excellent and makes this book a delight to listen to. A definate page turner that's hard to put down. If you like mystery and adventure then I highly recommend this book.

Disappointed By Narrator

I was so looking forward to listening to this book until I noticed the name of the narrator, it looked sadly familiar. Sure enough this is the same horrible reader that read MayDay. Hard as may try to get past the reading I just can't. Please audible and authors, don't use this reader, if you do, I won't buy the book.

Maybe the abridged version

I really did get into this book in the beginning as it seemed to have a good plot and a promise of excitement, but it just went on and on and on while getting nowhere and the action is only in the beginning and end. I would guess that the abridged version might be better. To make matters worse, the narrator was boring and brought no excitement to the book whatsoever so I guess he was a good match for the book.

Dissappointing

I read Plum Island, I listened to Night Fall and I loved them both, I especially love the reading by Scott Brick, so with the great reviews Lions Game has been getting I was sure I would equally enjoy this book.....WRONG! It started out good but turned boring after about the first 2 hours of a way too long book. I so wanted to just discard this but I muttled through it thinking it would get better. DeMille went into too much unnecessary details with long drawn out dialogue and history into a libyan psychopath. I suppose an abridged version of this book may work, but the predictable plot would still be too boring for my tastes. Sorry Mr. DeMille but I'm removing your books from my wish list.

One Of The Best

Several years ago I read my first Nelson DeMille novel, Plum Island, and I fell in love with DeMilles style of writing. This novel, combined with Scott Bricks reading, is one of the most outstanding purchases I've made from audible.com. I'm a continued fan of Nelson DeMille, the character John Cory, and a new fan of Scott Brick. I found this book very hard to stop listening to, in fact, I keep my iPod beside and would sacrifice much needed sleep for this very suspensful novel based on a controversial fact filled subject. I'm now truely intriqued by what really happened in July 1996 to TWA Flight 800.
