Story
With more than two million copies of her novels sold, New York Times best-selling author Geraldine Brooks has achieved both popular and critical acclaim. Now, Brooks takes on one of literature's richest and most enigmatic figures: a man who shimmers between history and legend. Peeling away the myth to bring David to life in Second Iron Age Israel, Brooks traces the arc of his journey from obscurity to fame, from shepherd to soldier, from hero to traitor, from beloved king to murderous despot and into his remorseful and diminished dotage.

Story
New York, 1888. Gas lamps still flicker in the city streets, but the miracle of electric light is in its infancy. The person who controls the means to turn night into day will make history - and a vast fortune. A young untested lawyer named Paul Cravath, fresh out of Columbia Law School, takes a case that seems impossible to win. Paul's client, George Westinghouse, has been sued by Thomas Edison over a billion-dollar question: Who invented the lightbulb and holds the right to power the country?

Only for first time job seekers

Only for first time job seekers
Reviewed: 09-27-07
This book is so fundamental and simplistic that it could only be of help to a first time job seeker and one that does not have the advantage of a working parent or a school guidance counselor. The contents cover only the most rudamentary basics of preparing for an interview. The title is totally mis-leading. The book is more about what one does the night before (clean your nails, press your suit) the interview and not the 30 minutes before. I consider it not only a waste of money to buy it but a waste of time to listen.
