Satisfying Ending

Jacqueline Winspear did a masterful job of including so many characters we met throughout this series in this final book. I wonder what might happen if Maisie Dobbs teamed up with Lane Winslow by Iona Whishaw?

Story
When Jonathan Argyll is arrested for breaking into an obscure church in Rome, he claims that it contains a long-lost Raphael hidden under a painting by Mantini. The painting disappears - then reappears in the hands of the top British art dealer, Edward Byrnes. How has Byrnes found out about the hidden masterpiece, and whom is he acting for? There is also the curious matter of the safe deposit box full of sketches closely resembling features of the newly discovered painting.

Nice Read

Ralph Cosham is a wonderful narrator! The story is interesting, and the dry humor is entertaining. I will read more by this author, as it will be interesting to see him hone his writing skills.

Louise Penny Does It Again!

This book contains several happy surprises!
Having read all of the Inspector Gamache series, Penny's sense of humor is more apparent in this work. Kudos to Robert Bathurst for his interpretation! The thing I most appreciated about this story was that the author took a character and allowed the reader to see how that character changed and grew as a person.
