Story
Jackie does not like surprises. Chaos is the enemy! The best way to get her successful, busy parents to notice her is to be perfect. The perfect look, the perfect grades—the perfect daughter. And then Jackie's family dies in a freak car accident and she has to move cross-country to live with the Walters—her new guardians. Now Jackie must trade in her Type A personality and New York City apartment for a Colorado ranch and all the wild Walter boys who come with it. where are the parents in these books?
Reviewed: 12-16-23
but seriously.... where are they? letting a young girl move in a house of boys and not expecting something to happen? the story is good, if it wasn't with teenagers it would be better. the narrator is kind of aggravating, reading everything in the same tone. not a bad listen as far as the story goes, if you don't mind the narrator.

Story
When a trip into the forest to collect a rare mushroom goes horribly wrong, I find myself falling through a fairy portal and straight into the arms of the Unseelie Fae prince. The dangerously unhinged and handsome Unseelie Fae prince. What could be more horrible than that? He thinks I'm an assassin sent by the humans to kill him, not a biologist. Determined to kill me first and rid himself of the human he has unwillingly grown obsessed with, yet also needing to entertain his people, the villain challenges me to three deadly trials.

"I'm too pretty too be taken seriously" really?? I was so over the FMC and figured out the plot twist after the first few chapters. I feel like her editor failed her big time. the plot holes.. so many. It felt like she had to suddenly make an ending with a back story for the FMC. And the MMC... he had absolutely no reason to be suddenly infatuated with her. Save your money/ credit/ time, don't read this book. The narrators did the best they could with that they had.

Story
You would think that Shannon and her coven would have their act together by now—especially after Cynthia, who is waaay more experienced in the magical realm, joins them. Nope. With Shannon’s familiar, Robert the bobcat, still missing after being shot by Steve, and the budding romance with Devon also shot to hell, Shannon’s got some serious challenges. As for the rest of the neophyte coven members, Libby got the job promotion but she detests it. Careful what you wish for, right?

I keep hoping these characters will start acting their age, but the writer keeps making them all seem like 5 year olds instead of women in their 30's or 40's. don't waste your money/ credit.

Two shocking words, torching a marriage of over 20 years. Totally blind-sided, Shannon, a middle-aged, stay-at-home mom, is traded in for a newer model. One of the few possessions her cheating ex didn’t swipe from under her nose, was the mountain resort she inherited from her dear aunt Maeve. With limited funds and bleak job prospects after being out of the workforce for so long, the decrepit resort is a lifeline.

Mad about having to get a job? really?
Reviewed: 08-28-23
the characters seem like spoiled 12 year olds instead of in their 40s. " and now I have to interrupt everything I wanted to achieve and get a job.." really? The first two books frustrated me a little bit I kept hoping it would get better. Needless to say, I give up on this series.

Her estranged father, the local medical examiner, has had a massive heart attack. At the hospital, she finds her father in near total denial of the seriousness of his condition. He insists that the best thing Emily can do to help him is to take on the autopsy of a senator's teen daughter whose sudden, unexplained death has just rocked the sleepy town.

Kieran has stepped up to take his place as the ruler of magical San Francisco. As his girlfriend I'm in the spotlight, and the Hades Demigods have taken notice. They want me on their team, and they don’t plan on asking nicely. Kieran and I are both under fire. They will kill him to get to me, and they'll take me by force if necessary. It is essential I learn more of my magic. With no other options, I do what scares me the most - I summon the last Spirit Walker to help train me.

still willfully ignorant..
Reviewed: 06-10-23
I was really hoping by the 4th book that the main character wouldn't be so willfully ignorant... no such luck. They also have sex at the most random horrible times. kidnapped kid? let's have sex. Threat of being found and killed? let's have sex. it's like the author threw some sex scenes in wherever they could. I like it just as much as anyone else, but timing is horrible. the narrator is still excellent with all the different characters. I've made it this far in the series because I liked the story, but I'm not sure I can handle the main character being stupid on purpose.

Story
Some people are ordained for greatness. Those people usually have a lot of drama in their life. Drama I happily do without. I live in a forgotten corner of nowhere for a reason: there is safety in anonymity. I have enough problems just trying to get by. But when Kieran, a sinfully sexy demigod at the pinnacle of power, crashes into my life, suddenly my whole world is turned upside down. He’s harboring a deadly secret, one that could destroy all he holds dear. He thinks I’m the key to his salvation, and he wants me to help him claim vengeance. He also wants me with a passion.

Unpacking her belongings in her new hometown of Portland, Oregon, herbalist and reformed alchemist Zoe Faust can't help but notice she's picked up a stowaway. Zoe, who's trying to put her old life behind her, isn't so sure she wants to reopen her alchemical past... until the dead man on her porch leaves her no choice.

vegan
Reviewed: 05-26-23
How do you know someone is vegan? They tell you immediately and often! If I turned this book into a drinking game for every time she said "vegan" or described a recipe, this book would have been much better. The main character doesn't really ever do any alchemy and has...a super sense of smell. I loved the French gargoyle cook, but that's about all I loved about this book. The narrator seemed to do the best she could with what she was given.
