I always felt like I wore a post-it note on my forehead my whole life that screamed "Abuse me!" on it. PA, SA, you name it.
These two books, Charlie's Secret and Sam's Truth were both very relatable. I'm so sorry the author went through all that she went through. By the end, I was sorry that her brother and mother AND father, went through ALL that they went through. Very well written. You feel a plethora of emotions throughout the 2 books. By the end, however, you kinda get stuck with ONE emotion. Compassion. Very nice.

This is one of those books where you keep listening/reading to find out how it twists and turns and what's the outcome. In my opinion, it's pretty twisted and I think it's meant to be. For the life of me I can't figure out how people for so much pleasure in that amount of pain/violence. Makes me think the author is pretty twisted to come up with this. That being said, if it came out in theaters, I'd be there to watch. 😉

I wonder if it would have been easier to follow if I had read the hard copy vs audio. I'll never know.
It wasn't my favorite read for sure. It also wasn't the very worst. So, if your take from my review is "Meh". That would be very accurate.
