I appreciate the questions that they recommend we ask our doctors. Many things were told that I did not know about. The one thing I would like is that the websites that are recommended are up-to-date. When I went to one of the recommended websites, the site was down.

In Pope Peter, Joe Heschmeyer says that papal flaws are an opportunity to understand what the papacy really means, not to abandon it (or the Church). Drawing deeply on the scriptural and historical witness, he offers a thorough but accessible defense of the papal office and an edifying picture of the extent—and limits—of its authority.

A creative new series of adventures
Reviewed: 06-04-20
I really enjoyed Raymond arroyo’s voices for each character he is very talented. I also enjoyed the story he’s creating around biblical artifacts and characters. Although a lot of the material is fiction for instance the staff of Moses existing and Elisha‘s mantle, it is a neat way to introduce children to the Bible and the real life characters that exist in the Bible. He also suddenly presents this material he doesn’t hit you over the head with that and he introduces scripture without quoting chapter and verse so that those familiar with the content of the Bible will know it’s context but others will be like wow that’s a neat piece of wisdom or saying. My only drawback is that I was constantly comparing this book to the Harry Potter series. had i read these books 1st I might’ve had an even better impression of these books than I did.

Ancient Faith has produced a fresh update and redesign of a book cherished by a generation of seekers. Written in an accessible manner for the average lay person, Orthodox Worship offers insights into the Orthodox liturgy. Early Christians preserved a continuity of worship from the Old Covenant to the New, employing elements from the Jewish Temple liturgy, the synagogue liturgy, and the rituals of the Jewish home.

A good thorough review of the liturgy.
Reviewed: 03-14-20
If you’re looking what the liturgy consists of in an Orthodox service look no further. This book traces each step within the divine liturgy. It also mentions some of it’s historical changes. One thing I would’ve appreciated more is a Fair analysis of differences between Orthodox beliefs and Roman Catholicism.
Having studied Roman Catholicism I am in favor of the Roman catholic point of view and feel that this book is lacking in its defense of orthodoxy being the one holy and Catholic and apostolic church.

Story
Marcellino D'Ambrosio dusts off what might have been just dry theology to bring you the exciting stories of great heroes such as Ambrose, Augustine, Basil, Athanasius, John Chrysostom, and Jerome. These brilliant, embattled, and sometimes eccentric men defined the biblical canon, hammered out the Creed, and gave us our understanding of sacraments and salvation. It is they who preserved the rich legacy of the early Church for us.

Five hundred years after Luther's now famous 95 Theses appeared, Eric Metaxas, acclaimed biographer of the best-selling Bonhoeffer: Pastor, Martyr, Prophet, Spy and Amazing Grace: William Wilberforce and the Heroic Campaign to End Slavery, paints a startling portrait of the wild figure whose adamantine faith cracked the edifice of Western Christendom and dragged medieval Europe into the future.

Excellent detail but with a bit of bias
Reviewed: 08-26-18
I loved the detail of each year of life of Luther. I also appreciated the side stories about other figures in Luther’s life that played a part in his story. For those people who don’t like extra detail and info about people other than the main character of a biography, you may want to pick a different Luther bio. Some details are so tiny, for instance, the remains of food and toys found in the Luther home in archaeological digs, that it may cause some readers to not enjoy the book. I found it all fascinating. What concerned me was the anti-catholic voice the biographer revealed. Certain opinions about the rightness or wrongness of the church in some capacity were offered as fact rather opinion.
