Story
It is midnight on the morning of Halloween, and Jen anxiously waits up for her 18-year-old son, Todd, to return home. But worries about his broken curfew transform into something much more dangerous when Todd finally emerges from the darkness. As Jen watches through the window, she sees her funny, seemingly happy teenage son stab a total stranger.

Great story and Narrator!!! Minor audio issues.
Reviewed: 11-14-22
The story was great and unique. A very different take on the classic "Groundhogs Day" in which one relives a day over and over again, except this time it is reliving multiple days in reverse. The main character goes backwards through days in her life to learn more about the event that changed everything and try to stop the event from happening. There was a steady flow and it didn't feel as if the story was slow moving in any places. My only dislike was the actual audio. The narrator did a wonderful job, but the editing of the audio wasn't good. There were probably 8 parts when the audio repeated a word 3 or 4 times in a row, like a broken record, and a few places that you could clearly hear the pages rustling. The pages were not a huge deal, and the broken record wasn't a huge issue either, but after the first 4 times of it happening it became very noticeable. Overall, I still recommend the book as a whole, and even the audio version, the storyline is great and the narrator portrays the characters well and keeps the listener engaged.

Story
When Edward Cullen and Bella Swan met in Twilight, an iconic love story was born. But until now, fans have heard only Bella's side of the story. At last, listeners can experience Edward's version in the long-awaited companion novel, Midnight Sun. This unforgettable tale as told through Edward's eyes takes on a new and decidedly dark twist. Meeting Bella is both the most unnerving and intriguing event he has experienced in all his years as a vampire.

Far exceeded my expectations

Not only an amazing story, but the narrator performed this book beautifully. I was skeptical about this book. While I enjoyed the twilight saga, I was an early teen when I read the series. As someone who is almost 30 now, I was worried I wouldn't enjoy this book as much as my teenage self enjoyed the saga. Boy was I wrong! Hearing the story from Edwards point of view is so much more mature and thought provoking. I was thoroughly engaged throughout this story and I couldn't stop listening! The 25hr audiobook flew by in what felt like no time at all. The narrator also was a huge part in the story's success for me, he didn't just read the book, he performed it. I cannot recommend this book enough and I will be getting a physical copy for my bookshelf!

Predictable and Unrelatable Characters
Reviewed: 12-26-19
The narrator was fantastic! The story however wasn't so great. The main character, the wife, was very unrelatable. In the beginning she started to dig into the disappearance more than any normal person would have. After that she just became very annoying, overbearing, and unrelatable. Overall a good short listen for a drive. But I was not impressed with the story, it was very predictable.

Story
Zachary Quinto - best known for his role as the Nimoy-approved Spock in the recent Star Trek reboot and the menacing, power-stealing serial killer, Sylar, in Heroes - brings his well-earned sci-fi credentials and simmering intensity to this audio-exclusive novella from master storyteller John Scalzi. One day, not long from now, it becomes almost impossible to murder anyone - 999 times out of a thousand, anyone who is intentionally killed comes back. How? We don't know.

First, the narrator does a fantastic job of switching between voices. The story aside, her vocals we're pleasant, captivating, and enjoyable to listen to. She really brought the characters to life!
Second, I have not read the other series that takes place in this world, however, I can say that this book is very enjoyable and understandable without reading the other series. I thoroughly enjoyed the world this book is set in and that the magic aspect of the story is done differently than the average story containing magic and it works incredibly! I do not want to give away any spoliers, so I will just say that I am looking forward to the next book so I can see how the characters hand what comes next and how the relationships develop, the hard part will be waiting!!!
