Best narration I have ever, EVER heard from an audible book. A million out of ten! The voice narrations truely do make this book come to life and the characters come alive with personality and distinction.
This is book 1 of six and I am truely saddened to now see, what is my new favourite book series, only have the first book narrated and available. I truely, truely hope that they get the same voice actors, or just as talented voice actors, to do the other books. Because this is an amazing book and work of art.
Amazing detail and world building, character design and personality and a story that has a lot of depth. This book is worth it, every step of the way.

This 24 hour dictionary book took a few months to chip away through. It was well worth it though; it's full of a lot of information, collected from a multitude of sources throughout the years. As with all information pertaining to demonolitry, take it with a grain of salt as one person's perspective will be different towards an entity than another person's. (doesn't mean it's wrong, that was just their specific experience with said entity).
The narrator was decent, despite the pronunciation of a few words, I'm willing to guess that the pronunciation of some words as well as some names of said entities differs from region of country to country.

Story
Demons, fairies, and fallen angels are everywhere. They lurk at crossroads, crouch behind doors, hide in trees, slip into beds, wait in caves, hover at weddings and childbirths, disguise themselves as friends, relatives - even disguise themselves as you. They are powerful; they are protean; they are enchanting. And, to the uninformed, they are often invisible. This guide - the first of its kind - reveals the remarkable permutations of the demon and fairy species worldwide.

I wish I could rate a half star.

In all honesty, I don't blame you for getting so much information smeared or incorrect or messed up. Granted, I'm past the introduction and into the first chapter and there's a lot of incorrect information. but I'm guessing they got their information from many books of lore and stories and put it in here with a splash of basic google search. For example, they mix up fairies for Faeries. And while not fully wrong on some things regarding demons, I think they're more talking about 'lesser demons' or if they're just meaning 'demon' as in a broad term, the information is a bit skewed and doesn't fit for all.
I'm still going to force myself to listen to the rest of the book and I dread what they're going to say about vampires, but I honestly wish I could get my money/credit back for this book. I rarely say this, because I feel every book has a gold nugget of information as long as you can sift through the junk that surrounds it. But this book really tests that thought. For that, I can't believe I have to say, I do not reccomend. For some past mythos/story telling from decades gone by, sure. But for someone that wants to study demonolitry, vampires, angels, occult, there are much better books out there.

I just want to point out, unbiased wise, all information books (like this one) will have nuggets of knowledge that is actual sprinkled around within. its the weaving through the book as a whole to find said nuggets of information that is the trick. with that being said I just have two things to point out with this book;
1: (in one of the earlier chapters (3 I think, it states with a cleansing bath as the subject) they stated a teaspoon of ammonia to 4 gallons of water.... Do. NOT. bathe. in. ammonia. it is toxic, regardless of "the amount" of substance to water ratio. it's something thats great for cleaning surfaces, other things to sterilize. pools ect. but NOT good for human/animal skin. it would be too potent and would be soaking through your skin, it's toxic- not to mention if it got into your below the belt regions; that's bad.
2; (I believe stated around chapter 5 while getting into the goetia, spirit guides); regarding the triangle thing; please, for the love of your god or patron/matron, do NOT evoke/summon the spirit/any entity you wish to have a good relationship with into a triangle. this is binding in the bad way. it's the equivalent of a person walking into a room to meet a potential friend and getting tackled to a wall, pinned, handcuffed then choke/gaged before you even get to introduce yourself. it's not friendly/good/nice in any means and is viewed as flat out rude to most entities/demons/daemons/spirits. please reconsider.
other than that, there are some interresting historical notes, other informations in here that are decent overall.
like anything, take it with a grain of salt and gather more information than just one book or source for knowledge. :)

I'm surprised it didn't say a very important thing about hematite. Do. NOT. Put. It. In. Water. it breaks with water. this INCLUDES sweat. it will break/decay. they said you should wear it as a ring, I suggest not too because rings trap sweat/you wash your hands. bracelets are better, just don't get it wet. when made into a ring, it becomes more delicate and apt to break easily because of stability is now not fully solid. (unlike metal that can take a hit and still stay connected, the stone will not.). Not to mention their list of stones that have some toxins in them and to not have them on your skin for long periods of time does contradict with their stones on where to hold them. yes they will hold metals of the earth like aluminum. asbestos and others, that's how they grow. though having some of them on your skin is generally fine as they contain them in too small of quantities.
that being said;
I am a firm believer in every book has some golden nugget of knowledge and I do reccomend this book because it does contain just that, some parts have golden nuggets of knowledge that you wouldn't normally come across and is accurate.
voice is light and pleasant.
would reccomend for a starting out beginner and as a brush up book with stones, you just got to know where to pick out some info from the rest. :)

Honestly, an amazing story! Narrator is awesome and does a great job including the infliction and emotions held behind the words. I have this as a physical book as well but didn't get a chance to read it the way through so I picked it up on here. Well worth the money for buying the same book twice. it wraps up fairly nicely but not too tightly because there is a chain of these books and the second one will take from there. But still ends on a nice wrapped up note at the same time and that's impressive. 10/10! ❤
I also love how the book series takes from kind of an alternate universes (au) approach, so it doesn't mimic/copy cat the game to the book pointedly. But at the same time it gives the same feel as the FNAF game series and does it justice. Well worth a read.
