Quell is a very clever girl. The ending to this was very unexpected. I need book two... now please! I gobbled this book up in two days. It only took me that long because I had to be an adult. From the beginning this book had me hooked with the world and the MC just wanting to find some peace. Get it you won't be disappointed.

Story
Finlay Donovan has been in messes before—after all, she's an author and single mom who's a pro at getting out bloodstains for rather unexpected reasons—but none quite like this. After she and her nanny/partner-in-crime Vero accidentally destroyed a luxury car that they may have "borrowed" in the process of saving the life of Finlay's ex-husband, the Russian mob got her out of debt. But now Finlay owes them.

I wasn't expecting to like this series this much as I do. It's clever and fun. I don't want to wait for the next installment, I need it right now. Vero is my favorite lady! I would love to get into all sorts of hijinks with her. Finlay is a very relatable, likable character. She's just as quick as Vero but with a level head. They ride for each other, and I love to see it. The whole cast is packed with depth and and I'm excited to see where we are headed.

This book was so packed with intrigue and mystery I want the next one now! Sara J. Maas knows how to plant seeds in a story and when they blossom you are never disappointed! The characters are layered and relatable. Sarah is the queen of world building. You can see the scenes she paints so vividly as if you were walking right along next you favorite characters. It makes this fantasy ride that much enjoyable. Elizabeth Evan's rocks my socks! Her narration is superb! I'm never bored! Her smooth melodic voice makes the transition from one character to the next seamlessly. It's that talent that connects the listener to the story. I Absolutely loved this story. It could have served as a stand alone story. That's how complete and mystifying this first book is and that's I'm excited to see where else these ladies will take us next!

This is one of my favorite series! This story is beautifully woven over the exquisite tapestry of Indian lore. Houck does masterful work of bringing the colors to life and making you fall for the characters. if you haven't read it please do yourself a favor.
