Darcy Stark did an excellent job as always bringing each of these characters to life, and engaging the listeners so much it was hard to press pause when all you wanted to do was hear Finn and Jacob find their way to their forever love! It is wonderful to hear the nuances and emotions of each person that are part of this world created by Beth Bolden.

CROSSING LINES - CHRISTIE GORDON
This is Book 2 in the Desert Ice Hockey series by Christie Gordon, and it was nice to see some familiar characters in this story.
Jonah was introduced in the first book as Archer’s best friend and teammate and we learn more about his personality and who he is in this book. It was definitely lust at first sight for him when the team is introduced to Ryan for the first time. Ryan was also in lust with Jonah and couldn’t get him out of his mind after seeing him in the locker room the first day.
The relationship was kept secret because of the ‘coach/player’ dynamic, but since Ryan was not his direct coach, they decided to follow their hearts and see where it would lead. The other guys on the team were supportive as always, and true to Christie Gordon’s writing, very engaging and laugh out loud funny at times.
These characters are so heartwarming in their affection and support of one another, that alone is reason to read the book! But you will absolutely enjoy the storyline and will be cheering for this relationship to succeed.
Christie Gordon is an author that should be on everyone’s must read list, so add her if you have not already!
AUDIOBOOK UPDATE:
Finnley Cole brings these characters to life and the listener can hear this romance with all of the right inflections as he shares how Jonah and Ryan found their HEA. The accents are great and you feel engaged in the story as soon as it starts! Another wonderful version of Crossing Lines by Christie Gordon!

MELTING THE ICE - AUDIBLE - BETH BOLDEN
I always enjoy reading anything by Beth Bolden, and love when characters from previous series appear in current stories.
Brody and Dean were roommates from two different sports backgrounds, but after spending time together as friends and eventually boyfriends, they knew they had found their person. While neither had dated guys before, or even thought about it, their chemistry was amazing and they enjoyed being with each other more than anyone else.
Darcy Stark brings these characters to life and the listener can hear this romance with all of the right inflections as he shares how they found their HEA.
Take time to read/listen to Beth Bolden books, they are always guaranteed to make your heart smile.

Then out of nowhere, this colorful dude pleas for help and what do I do? Save him. Of course, he’s really attractive and probably crazy. Now he’s found me at work, wants to meet for coffee and so much more. Do I lower my defenses and let him in?

BREAKING THE RULES
I really enjoyed the final book in the Rules of the Game series.
I didn't know much about either of the characters from the earlier books, but Brigham knew how to create a great storyline and fill in all the missing details the reader wanted to know about Trevor and Wade.
Each story kept the reader enthralled and wanting to see what was going to happen with the Malone story, and it was definitely an interesting twist in the end. While it was initially part of the reason Trevor and Wade started spending more time together, it was not the only reason these two wanted to keep talking and getting to know one another. Especially since Wade's son was such a big fan of Trevor's and they developed a great rapport with each other.
I found them very engaging and their family lives blended together so well in the end. It was initially slow to start, and they had no great love for one another aside from being agent/client. But as they worked together to help get rid of the 'proverbial' bad guy, they opened themselves up more to finding someone to love and build a lasting relationship with.
It was nice to see characters return from previous books and see their characters continuing to build on their love and families. And it was great to have the team win their cup and share how they each spent their day with it. I hope that new readers to Brigham Vaughn found her attention for detail and gift of storytelling so wonderful they went in search of all the other series she has written, because they are all worth reading.
Audible Update:
Hearing the book come to life narrated by James Edward Jones is a wonderful experience and everyone will enjoy the way he portrays each character.

Ex-quarterback Davis Abernathy knows he’s on his last chance. If he strikes out as Paxton Kelly’s coach, nobody else is going to call him. Not to get back on the field, and not to stand on the sidelines. He’s got a lot to teach Pax, and as a second-year quarterback, Pax has a lot to learn. But Davis doesn’t anticipate the irresistible way they’ll be drawn together from their first meeting. He never could have predicted such a fierce and uncontrollable yearning—or that Pax would feel the same.
