Story
Widower Luke Driskell didn’t expect to fall in love and marry again so quickly. But Ashley and her daughter, Joy, are special—a quality borne out when Ashley rushes into a burning day-care center to save the children. Immediately she’s a social media sensation and hero. Then, just as suddenly, Ashley and Joy disappear into the bitterly cold night. With no trace of their whereabouts, Luke begins a panicked investigation. Alarmingly, he can find no proof that the woman he loves even exists. Left behind: just a hidden stash of fake IDs. Different names. Different cities. Same haunted face.

A masterpiece that combines the visions of four great Catholic mystics into one coherent story on the life of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Based primarily on the famous revelations of Venerable Anne Catherine Emmerich and Venerable Mary of Agreda, it also includes many episodes described in the writings of St. Bridget of Sweden and St. Elizabeth of Schonau.

So little of Mary's life is known. Details of her early life and circumstances are explained in the book. It made her seem more real and approachable.
Enjoyed it very much.

Good review of why we do what we do to give worship to God. Also helpful for people who question the customs of the ma y ways we pay homage to or request favors from the Saints.

Story
Even people who are not professing Christians think they are familiar with the story of the Nativity. Every Christmas, displays of Jesus resting in a manger populate lawns and churchyards, and songs about shepherds and angels fill the air. Yet despite the abundance of these Christian references in popular culture, how many of us have examined the hard edges of this biblical story? Timothy Keller takes listeners on an illuminating journey into the surprising background of the Nativity.

Enjoyed the narrator's delivery. Contents was informative and reassuring. Logic and history prevail. I had no issues with his facts and had to finish it all in one sitting.

It may be listed as a children's book but it was very pleasant to listen to. The narrator's voice was easy to listen to. The storyline could be compared to a Harry Pott e r story. Thoroughly enjoyed the three books.

What did you like best about Stories I Only Tell My Friends? What did you like least?
Rob Lowe has a great reading voice and is easy to listen to. Since I'm not in that life, it gave me an insight as to how difficult it is for someone to attain stardom. Some of the comments seemed like sour grapes but I imagine he payed dearly for his life.
What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?
His formative years as a young aspiring actor.
Have you listened to any of Rob Lowe’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
No
What else would you have wanted to know about Rob Lowe’s life?
Not much
