Story
Lady Miranda Hawthorne acts every inch the lady, but inside she longs to be bold and carefree. Entering her fourth Season and approaching spinsterhood in the eyes of society, she pours her innermost feelings out not in a diary but in letters to her brother's old school friend, a duke - with no intention of ever sending these private thoughts to a man she's heard stories about but never met.

Fun! Good mystery. A riveting tale and an ending that makes me smile with the personal revelations of how ,where and with whom we find what we need in life.

Narration Speed adjustments
Reviewed: 07-31-23
Anytime, I start a book where I don’t care for the narrator, I either slow down the speed, a notch or two, or increase it a notch or two, and have found it makes a dramatic difference in how the narrator sounds, as well as intonation and exclamations. I haven’t found a single narrator that wasn’t improved by adjusting to the appropriate speed for that recorded book.
