I was so excited when this series went back in time to see where it all started with Hannah. As usual the narration was great. I felt there was a lot of filling time and space with recipes. A chapter that looked to be longer had half the time filled with a recipe. The storyline could have been so much stronger. It felt choppy in parts and rushed in others. I really enjoy the Hannah Swenson series and I hope for more peeks into Hannah's past, just with more substance.

How wonderful was this book! It was like sitting next to Graham and having him tell me a story about his family in Ireland. I really enjoyed the mystery of it, I was guessing different people throughout. And I especially liked feeling like I was there with all the details of the town and the people. Can’t wait for the next book!

If you could sum up The Magnolia Story in three words, what would they be?

True. To. Them.

What other book might you compare The Magnolia Story to and why?

I would compare this book to any other biography that seems true and genuine. I felt as if I was sitting in the farm house with Chip and Joanna, chatting about life and identifying with certain aspects of what they shared.

Which character – as performed by Chip Gaines and Joanna Gaines – was your favorite?

I probably enjoyed listening to Joanna more. Being a working mom myself. I identified with her. Chip is often comic relief.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I felt connected to Chip and Joanna as if they were people I knew. I did laugh and cry and feel frustrated for them at certain situations. Overall, it was a sweet short visit with 'friends'.

Any additional comments?

Enjoyable and fulfilling book. Especially as a fan of the show. Certainly would enjoy another book from them.
