Story
In the blink of an eye, everyone disappears. Gone. Except for the young. There are teens, but not one single adult. Just as suddenly, there are no phones, no Internet, no television. No way to get help. And no way to figure out what's happened. Hunger threatens. Bullies rule. A sinister creature lurks. Animals are mutating. And the teens themselves are changing, developing new talents - unimaginable, dangerous, deadly powers - that grow stronger by the day. It's a terrifying new world.

Story
Kate Harker and August Flynn are the heirs to a divided city - a city where the violence has begun to breed actual monsters. All Kate wants is to be as ruthless as her father, who lets the monsters roam free and makes the humans pay for his protection. All August wants is to be human, as good-hearted as his own father, to play a bigger role in protecting the innocent - but he's one of the monsters. One who can steal a soul with a simple strain of music.

Story
The fall of society triggered a hard, new life where survival became the only focus. We shunned each other and the old ways, killing anyone who was different. We reverted to primitive behaviors, using the war as an excuse to commit unspeakable atrocities, and humanity slipped deeper into the abyss of possible extinction. Soon, darkness blanketed the post-apocalyptic lands with hatred and violence that seemed to have no end. The future, cold and dark, offered little hope.

Story
Gideon calls me his angel, but he's the miracle in my life. My gorgeous, wounded warrior, so determined to slay my demons while refusing to face his own. The vows we'd exchanged should have bound us tighter than blood and flesh. Instead they opened old wounds, exposed pain and insecurities, and lured bitter enemies out of the shadows. I felt him slipping from my grasp, my greatest fears becoming my reality, my love tested in ways I wasn't sure I was strong enough to bear.

Reviewed: 06-16-13
Would you listen to The Trial of Fallen Angels again? Why?
I will listen to this book again and probably again. The twists and turns of an neverending plot captured me and kept me intrigued throughout the entire book. Therese Plummer, once again, performs at her best.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Cutter's grandmother. She is true to nature the image of every grandmother. Continually nurturing and talking most gently in words of love.
Which scene was your favorite?
Best scene - ALL were heart wrenching
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes - I did listen to this book without interruption; well except to shower.
Any additional comments?
This book had so many characters and situations; so much drama and suspense. Therese Plummer did an outstanding narration and brought all the characters to life in true colors; male, female, child and those of age, so many different accents and foreign languages. Ms. Plummer is top notch in her field.
