I have read and listened to books one and two of this series so many times. I’m not sure what it is about Kieran’s story that draws me. Sure his back story sounds pretty far fetched, but the way he is written and the words he speaks ring true despite the fact. Knowing this is BB Reid’s first book is a testament to how gifted she is as a storyteller. When you add in Teddy Hamilton, you can’t go wrong with this one.

Teddy Hamilton is great in this audiobook. The story, itself, leaves a lot to be desired in terms of character development. The premise of the story and the basic plot works well, but the relationship between Violet and Grey falls short of plausible.

This story is a lot, and most of it is not what I expected based on the cover and title. It is very mafia-forward. There are a lot of allusions to hockey since that is the world they live in, but the setting is mostly looming danger. Still, the narrators are the best!

I just love this couple, and the men of Fallen MC. It’s a great series.

Kieran and Lake are one of my top three toxic relationship romances. I mean, this guy is crazy. The girl is weak. Their bond is wholly trauma based.

But, beware, the smut might set your ears on fire.

Dash and Willow’s story plays better than Keenan and Sheldon’s, but it’s still just meh. The characters are too much alike. The dynamics of their relationships, even the course of their love affairs, with the third act breakups feel almost cut and paste. The best part is that Dash is not a purported gangster or murderer of any kind. It’s his one defining characteristic. Willow’s is… her clothes? Bad attitude? I can’t really say.

Still, good choice of male narrator.

I love the characters in this series, and I love the interactions, despite how dark, between Keenan and Sheldon. However, the story was a bit too focused on a mysterious kidnapping that’s never solved.

The best thing about this audiobook is Teddy Hamilton voice. I don’t know if I could have continued to listen had it not been for him. The female narrator’s voice grates, and the plot is weak.

I still love BB Reid’s mind, though.

Although the story was longer and narratives more evasive than necessary, I enjoyed the story. The audio would have benefited from a male narrator in addition to the female. It was basically like reading aloud, a lot less immersive than my typical audiobooks.

On the bright side, this story is like nothing I’ve ever really heard/read before. It’s sweet and interesting. However, it’s a bit slow and the perspective is a bit bizarre, considering the main character is nonverbal.

Clearly, I have conflicting opinions.

Ok, so these two guys have very similar voices, at least, they do at high speed. Still, I really enjoyed the characters. I especially appreciate the low angst. Super cute!
