Story
April Markham might be jet-lagged beyond belief, but at least the bartender at her hotel is easy on the eyes. After years of throwing herself into work to combat the pain of a failed relationship, a bit of innocent flirtation is exactly what she needs to get her groove back. Nick is the full package—charming, handsome, age appropriate, single. Plus, he makes a fantastic gin gimlet. One night of conversation turns into two, and his company quickly becomes as irresistible as the cocktails he crafts.

Such a fun little bite of spicy romance!
Reviewed: 04-16-25
Nick and April meet by chance when she is on a business trip and sits at his bar. Though she is only in town for a few days, they have instant chemistry and a desire to get to know one another. Will a long-distance relationship be in the cards for them?
Brianna's novellas are such a fun little bite of romance, with a dash of delicious spice. I like that the attraction is instantaneous and they waste little time getting to the fun parts of romance stories - the swooning and the spicy bits. That said, there are always snippets of emotional moments and tension as well.
Claire is a new narrator to me, but I think she does a fantastic job solo narrating this novella. She does very well with both April and Nick's characters, and her masculine voice is great. The narration moves the story along beautifully and kept me engaged as the listener.

Story
You’ve heard of those kids who peak in high school? Meet my love life. Garrett Bradford was mine from the moment we saw each other in ninth grade. Even then, he was a six-foot-four mountain of muscles with bright blue eyes, a wide grin, and a way with his hands. He was the high school football star, and I was the dance team captain. We were the storybook cliché… until we weren’t. Now he’s the most famous offensive lineman in the league, and I’m a buttoned-up, ultra-professional lawyer.

Sweetest surprise pregnancy storyline!
Reviewed: 01-17-25
This is my first read of Tia's, and it will not be my last! Anyone who can make me fall in love with the surprise pregnancy trope will get my praise, it is not one that I typically go for.
I enjoyed the fact that we got little glimpses of Garrett and Liv's relationship in high school, and it honestly made me a bit nostalgic for the sweet simplicity of high school romance. It also set the foundation for how they would interact when they are faced with each other again, back in their hometown for a family wedding.
I appreciated an MMC who wasn't afraid to step up and be willing to make sacrifices for his baby and baby mama, and Garrett was so quick to drop everything to make sure that Liv was okay. Liv was so strong throughout the whole situation, and I admired that about her. It was so sweet to see them come together as a little family unit.
Onto the narration...Samantha and Patrick both did a phenomenal job as Liv and Garrett, respectively. Samantha has such a soothing, lyrical quality to her voice, and it lent itself well to the more emotional parts of the story. Patrick was a new narrator for me, and I really liked his performance. He possesses a guy-next-door vibe with his voice, and it kept me engaged in the story because it felt very believable.

Enjoyable small town romantic suspense
Reviewed: 12-11-24
As a whole this book was pretty good. It has elements of small town, romantic suspense, touch her and die, and heroine in danger. Harper is an enjoyable FMC, and I appreciated that she wasn't the damsel in distress type. Cody is a protective former military man, and he immediately senses correctly that all is not right in the world of Harper, when she stops by his bar with injuries and begging for a job.
This felt a touch insta-love for my taste, and there were parts where the plot kind of lost my attention, but overall it was a solid listen. Jason and Avery did a great job with their respective parts!

Lauren Locklear. She has no idea that I would do anything for her. She doesn’t understand the mountains I would climb just to keep her safe. That’s okay though, I’ll make sure she does. She thinks she’s weak, and given the lack of love and support from those closest to her, I can understand why. That changes now, I will make her see the strong woman I see when I look at her. I’ve pined for her in secret, wanting nothing more than to show her what she could have. But with my past still haunting me, I knew it would be best to stay back.

The day I left Wilder Valley, I swore I’d never return. My dreams were too big for this small town, and I was determined to make it in LA, even if that meant leaving behind the man I loved. Now I’m back, brokenhearted and publicly humiliated after a colossal breakup live-streamed to the masses. I have no career or money to show for my 23 years away. If I could hide out anywhere else on the planet, I would. Instead, I resort to taking the only job in town. A nanny gig for my high school sweetheart.

Heartfelt small-town romance
Reviewed: 05-17-24
This was a sweet (and a little spicy) small-town romance, set in the town of Wilder Valley. I appreciated that the MCs are both in their 40's, that's not something that is done often. I'm a sucker for a single dad trope and this was written well and in a way that was really relatable as a parent. I look forward to the rest of the series!

My name is Lorenzo Moretti. Born to be head of the Cosa Nostra, except that I chose love over my birthright. On our wedding day, my father cursed our union, swearing on his own blood that my wife and I would never live out our days in happiness. I guess he was right, because fate stole her from me and I’m left to live an empty life without her, with a shattered heart and only half a soul. On the day my wife died, I swore I’d never love anyone like that again, and it’s a promise I kept for two years.

Sweet small-town romance
Reviewed: 03-04-24
This is my second of Maggie’s books, and she can absolutely write the heck out of a small town romance. The meddling supporting characters are perfection, and I loved Callum and Layla’s story. Samantha Brentmoor is a favorite female narrator of mine, and she delivered beautifully with Layla’s character. Bryant was new for me but he did a great job as well with Callum. As always, Blue Nose Audio did an excellent job with all aspects of production.

Beckett Langfield is grumpy, rich and hates kids. I’m an overworked, overstressed, and overweight single mom. The only reason we’re getting married is because he needs to fix a PR disaster and I am available. As in sitting next to him, in a bar, when he has this brilliant idea. Considering I just got divorced, I’m not looking to do that again. But Beckett makes me an offer that I literally can’t refuse, so I don’t.
