Internal dialogs are killing me

I would never have bought the first if I'd known I had to buy 5 books to get the full story! And if the female lead didn't have so many painful internal diologues the story could be told in just one book. And every single dialog she is going back and forth about the SAME THING. Shes a weak woman to boot - she needs to stand up fir herself and the man she sats she loves. I'm not sure I care enough at this point to listen to 2 more books of this agony.

Just a few chapters into this book, I didn't know if I would be able to stand 49 chapters of secrets, lack of communication, misunderstandings. I like the characters but oh my gosh just talk to each other. it was painful

I've never read a book with this many metaphors. It seemed impossible for the author to just say "the sun is shining". Instead we had 3 paragraphs describing the sun. I'm told that is called purple prose. And way too much angst repeated over and over. Story was okay bit I was so ready to be done with it.

The people voicing the book can make or break an audible book. the ones hired to voice this book broke it. I kept thinking the one who was voicing Melanie should have been doing phone sex. I've never heard such a breathy voice for a psychologist. and the voice of the youngest brother kept making me think of someone asking Lassie if Timmy was in the well. you also want to love the main characters. I kept wanting to tell Melanie to get some balls. What a wimp. the only way this writer keeps selling books is because there is a storyline that makes you want to find out how everything turns out. but otherwise the dialogue is weak, the characters do such stupid things, and you just want the book to be over. I might read another one of her books if it's free. But I won't be paying for another one.

storyline could have been good but it was so slow it was painful to listen to. I don't know how characters this stupid could survive. characters who knew they were in danger of being killed just sitting outside on a park bench? just stupid I ended up skipping the last few chapters in the last book because I just had to get it finished. I repeat painful
