Best performance!

Great story, very engaging and entertaining. Gilbert imagination went very far with this novel. Now, the performance by Juliet was absolutely perfect, her different voices for the characters, the intensity for her words, the projection really made this book much more enjoyable and very special. Congratulations to both!

Story
Born to survivalists in the mountains of Idaho, Tara Westover was seventeen the first time she set foot in a classroom. Her family was so isolated from mainstream society that there was no one to ensure the children received an education, and no one to intervene when one of Tara’s older brothers became violent. When another brother got himself into college, Tara decided to try a new kind of life. Her quest for knowledge transformed her, taking her over oceans and across continents, to Harvard and to Cambridge University.

This story touched me personally. I share with her some facts and an absent father by choice. I choose too not to have him in my life. This goes beyond what I or maybe anyone can imagine in terms of abuse, brainwashing, and just ignorant beliefs by Tara’s family. She has undergone a real journey of self discovery which was threatened (not to be finished) by her family . She choose reason, she choose good people in her life, she choose to be safe and to evolve. All that was achieved by being educated.
I have to say something about the reader performance... omg! She was great! She sounded like Tara, she played her father voices, her abusive brother, it made you feel like you were literally watching while the story was being read. Amazing job!
