This is a well researched and thorough treatment of baptism. Even if you might disagree with the author, his engagement with a variety of sources and manner of communication is winsome, as he regularly cites sources on both sides of the debate. Goeman searches the Scriptures and church history to provide a well rounded analysis of the paedobaptist view and offer an alternative perspective. Though Peter Goeman is an academic and writes with scholarly precision, “The Baptism Debate” is an accessible text for both church leaders and lay people.
