Story
It’s the end of the world as you've never known it. Join the Librarian as he does his best to make the post-apocalyptic world a better place by protecting the weak, fighting injustice, squaring off against a group of former renaissance fair workers who have established a kingdom in the Rocky Mountains, and so on. Can one man make a difference in the face of such murderous cannibals and super smart bears? Probably not.

The narrator needs to pause between scenes in the story. it tends to run one scene into the next.
On the whole, very well written story.

Story
The human powers have been pushed to the brink, battered, and almost destroyed. The virus they have invented and deployed, their sole possibility for victory, seems to be too little, too late. Its usage has only spurred the enemy to quicker action, to finish the war before they have to deal with its effects. But the humans do not know that the Highborn are faced on another front, by a race they know little about but have battled for two centuries.

great series, not so great book
Reviewed: 09-22-22
this is one of my favorite series, but this book was a bit of a disappointment. it seemed author trying to stretch out the story with redundant and duplicated musings by the characters to the point of rambling on and on. yet the conclusion seemed abrupt and hurried. out of nowhere, a powerful savior appears and destroys the antagonist 'POOF!'.

Painful Narrator
Reviewed: 08-27-22
I usually love Kristin Hannah's books! I really enjoy listening to them too, but not this one. The narration was so monotone I could not get past chapter 2, what a waste of my reading credit. Will definitely listen to the sample before I purchase another book by this author. One would think the suthor would choose a good narrator for their book they have spent time on writing and not ruin it with a monotone narrator. Skip this one.
