The politics killed it

It started okay, I wasn’t surprised some modern views were being added but this went way to far and even got history completely wrong when it came to the slave trade. The ad for his pod cast half way into chapter 1 certainly didn’t help and pulled me right out of the story. If someone wants to edit this and remove all that crap, you probably have a great story but this author is not remotely a historian when he can’t get history correct because it disagrees with his political belief.

And one of the most enjoyable stories I’ve herd in awhile. The author does extremely well in giving facts without a biased point of view while explaining the biased point of view that was held by his sources. A very well done book.

The person doing the reading was also very enjoyable and the imitation of the writers voices for letters was also a great joy making the story that much more fun.

Based on the book. The documentary did a nice job telling this story but I found even more interesting facts in the book. The performance was well and the reader made sure you understood when different people spoke. Made several long work days very bearable

I have read the full book before and got the audio to listen to at work but the reader has a touch of a lisp which kind of drove me nuts. Also there was a couple of times where she read the same sentence twice and that really irritated me (might be an issue with the book itself but still). Otherwise I did really enjoy it.

The book itself feels very rushed at certain points in the story and I get the impression there’s some kind of backstory to the book that we are not given by the author. I still very much enjoy it and have read it many times over. I really don’t recommend the sequel but I do have that too and may yet listen to it...

Yes there are some things missing in its history of medicine but as it follows only one person it does do it very well. The reader could have done a bit better on his diction when doing certain accents but still very enjoyable.

The family dynamic was confusing as the aunt/uncle relationship was more like a brother/sister and Lisa Cordileone played them as more brother/sister which I think was what the author actually should have been.

As has been said the plot seemed more focused on the young daughter then the grownups but I also found that to work well. I also loved how they encouraged the girls to wait for sex (they did a bit). My favorite character had to be the cross dressing uncle though. He made me laugh every time and he actually made the story work. I just wish this was available on ‘kindle unlimited’.

It’s honestly worth a read and is a very fun book, great characters but don’t believe the age for the older characters as they never fit the age their supposed to be. The Italian family was perfectly done and oh so funny with the love of football in every prayer they had. It’s also so great in how they support each other and the family drama at the end totally makes for a great story and it’s the only drama in the story. It’s the most real life like lesbian story I have found yet and look forward to more.

And the story was all over the place. I have to agree with others on where did this author come up with the sideline issues that had nothing to do with the actual story.

I actually enjoyed the narrator and found his voice to be very soothing but I’ll not be looking at anything else from this author who is obviously from the EAST and knows nothing about the west in any form whatsoever. I’m also not sure how this got so many great reviews....

As she wasn’t that great with certain parts of the story. She did do great on trying to give the characters a proper accent even if she didn’t truly now what to sound like. Overall very enjoyable and I will be listening to more
