Story
Aristotle is an angry teen with a brother in prison. Dante is a know-it-all who has an unusual way of looking at the world. When the two meet at the swimming pool, they seem to have nothing in common. But as the loners start spending time together, they discover that they share a special friendship - the kind that changes lives and lasts a lifetime. And it is through this friendship that Ari and Dante will learn the most important truths about themselves and the kind of people they want to be.

A story that I will keep with me.

Heartfelt and full of angst, this story is so well told. I loved the entire cast of characters. I will think of this story for years to come.

Not what I had hoped
Reviewed: 12-09-15
The story lacks character development. I could never identify with any of the characters. The main character was dull and made little sense at times. This was not at all the tender love story I had hoped for. I forced myself to finish it in hopes it would finally deliver a believable emotional connection between the characters but it never did.

Story
The Nightingale tells the stories of two sisters, separated by years and experience, by ideals, passion and circumstance, each embarking on her own dangerous path toward survival, love, and freedom in German-occupied, war-torn France—a heartbreakingly beautiful novel that celebrates the resilience of the human spirit and the durability of women. It is a novel for everyone, a novel for a lifetime.

A little slow to start but then you are hooked. A truly emotional journey. I forgot this was fiction. Felt so real. One I will remember for years.
