Story
The Bell Jar chronicles the crack-up of Esther Greenwood: brilliant, beautiful, enormously talented, and successful but slowly going under - maybe for the last time. Sylvia Plath masterfully draws the reader into Esther's breakdown with such intensity that Esther's insanity becomes completely real and even rational, as probable and accessible an experience as going to the movies. Such deep penetration into the dark and harrowing corners of the psyche is an extraordinary accomplishment and has made The Bell Jar a haunting American classic.

Story
This is the way the world ends: with a nanosecond of computer error in a Defense Department laboratory and a million casual contacts that form the links in a chain letter of death. And here is the bleak new world of the day after: a world stripped of its institutions and emptied of 99 percent of its people. A world in which a handful of panicky survivors choose sides - or are chosen.

Great!
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Story
Though Anderson Cooper has always considered himself close to his mother, his intensely busy career as a journalist for CNN and CBS affords him little time to spend with her. After she suffers a brief but serious illness at the age of ninety-one, they resolve to change their relationship by beginning a yearlong conversation unlike any they have ever had before. The result is a correspondence of surprising honesty and depth in which they discuss their lives, the things that matter to them, and what they still want to learn about each other.

A BOOK FOR EVERYONE
Reviewed: 04-17-18
What did you love best about The Rainbow Comes and Goes?
Anders, you and your mother are the kindest people alive. I am so happy that you achieved a level of knowledge that some may never know. It warms my heart that you did this. Thank you for this amazing gift.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Gloria, I feel like our lives are woven together some how.
Which character – as performed by Gloria Vanderbilt and Anderson Cooper – was your favorite?
I could never decide.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Yes, had to take a break. Loved that I could go back, their forgiveness always inspiring. I am still absorbing. I hope Gloria is okay. Love sent from those who can't be there.
Any additional comments?
Thank you, I am eternally grateful.
