I think my favorite part of this story is the main characters who guessed what the other was thinking... correctly. instead of assuming the wrong, they figured out or realized the truth. I didn't need to get frustrated with the abundance of ignorance like in most romance stories.

I truly enjoyed beginning this book with frustration at the incorrect judgments thrown at each other, by George and Susan, then watching so comically as their opinions quickly changed through actual association. It was like watching someone dislike a book by looking at its cover, then being forced to read it and see the change in their attitude as they laugh, growl, and cheer throughout the story they initially rejected. I loved the dialogue, and the storyline, and the characters... especially the loveable "Fairy Godmother" and her butler. I would recommend this to all readers who look for clean romantic stories without swearing, or sexual innuendos making romance cheap. I would go so far as to compare Karen Tuft's writing with Jane Austen's style of wording the dialogue in such a way that leaves the true humor and subtle interpretations to the reader, without having to needlessly explain. It feels like reading on deeper levels somehow. 👍

My ten year old struggles with reading, but enjoyed listening to this story. Thank you for writing something he liked! A great adventure with a nice kid who thinks differently and likes himself. Self worth seems to be missing from kids these days and this book will help my son feel better about being smart.

This is the first book I've read by this author and I was riveted by each clue. A different style than I'm used to. The way clues are shared throughout the entire book made me wanting to go faster! When I thought I knew what would happen next, something was revealed to change my mind. So entertaining! Loved it!

I really enjoyed the characters! I feel like I know them and can guess how they would react to something. I really loved seeing Amelie humble her pride to see the truth. I can relate to letting my emotions cloud my vision. Great story! I hope to read her cousins' stories next!

the whole book was a snowballing lie. I was so frustrated, but I couldn't stop reading because I just had to know what impossible events would make this a happy ending... funny and clean but not a reread for me.

The story was great- hard to put it down! without giving away any spoilers, I just want to say it is good! I thought there would be more romance, but am happy without it. We get into the minds of the characters so we can feel the emotion a bit, but not to slow down the storyline. It made me want to support people in difficult positions! Help law enforcement and emergency personnel- and the book was still enjoyable, not gory or distasteful. I'll recommend it 👍

I read a previous comment that this story was Agatha Christie and Jane Austen come together... since they are my 2 favorites, I had to read it! I enjoyed it completely! The anxiety, the sadness, and of course the ending made my heart sing! I'm going to look for more from Julie Klassen!

I loved this story! I enjoyed the Beauty and the Beast similarity with enough originality to still peak my interest through the whole book. I'm going to look for more "steampunk" now- I didn't know what I was missing.
