In her mind, Janae Collins is the sharpest person living in the Graveyard Projects. Not only is she smart and beautiful, but Janae is very selfish, cunning, calculating - shrewdness at its best. Even though she’s the youngest assistant director at Krusades Funeral Home, Janae is always on the hustle for her next come up. Bringing in her aunt and best friend, she runs a lucrative side hustle that excels for years until greed rips her team apart. I wish it were possible to give a narrator less than one star. She was awful! The editing was also poor because there were entirely too many repetitions in this audiobook.

Story
Raised by a widowed mother, Jill Reed has come a long way from her difficult youth. But while she may not have had money, Jill never doubted she was rich in love. Her mother, Connie, made Jill the center of her world. Now, even though she has a young family of her own, it’s Jill’s turn to care for her ailing mother. When early dementia begins to set in, Connie starts talking about Jill’s “other life.” Jill assumes it’s just rambling confusion. Still, Connie’s stories about Jill’s childhood, and her father’s early death, never quite added up.

Story
By the time Chloé Hilliard was 12, she wore a size 12 - both shoe and dress - and stood over six feet tall. Fitting in was never an option. That didn’t stop her from trying. Cursed with a “slow metabolism”, “baby weight”, and “big bones” - the fat trilogy - Chloe turned to fad diets, starvation, pills, and workouts, all of which failed. Realizing that everything - from government policies to corporate capitalism - directly impacts our relationship with food and our waistlines, Chloé changed her outlook on herself and hopes others will do the same for themselves.

Atrocious reading
Reviewed: 02-03-20
This book was not the worst but the reading was absolutely horrendous. To call her a narrator would be entirely too generous. I almost lost it when I heard her pronunciation of the word "gnawing" around chapter 54 in the rat scene. The lady's reading truly spoiled what could have been a decent book.
