Story
Tori Karacis’s family line may trace back to a drunken liaison between the god Pan and one of the immortal gorgons. Or maybe it’s just coincidence that her glance can, literally, stop men in their tracks. While her fear of heights kept her out of the family aerobatic troupe, her extreme nosiness fits right in with her uncle’s P.I. business. Except he’s disappeared on an Odyssean journey to find himself. Muddling through on her own, she’s reduced to hunting brass-bra’d Hollywood agent Circe Holland to deliver a message, only to witness her murder by what looks like the Creature from the Black Lagoon.

Interesting Urban Fantasy

I really enjoyed the story twist to the Greek gods and goddesses and what their lives are now during these modern times. The narrator did a nice job too. I look forward to checking out the rest of the series. This audio book was received free from the publisher/author for a voluntary review.

Story
Welcome to Rannit, an ancient city awash in magic and mayhem. Wracked by war, but embracing the dubious wonders of steam and iron, Rannit is on the path to renewal - but old magics and older shadows won’t go easily into the light. Markhat earns his living as a finder. On behalf of his clients, Markhat will find anyone, or anything, for a fee. In Three Mean Streets, his clients include a dead man’s ghost, a mighty Troll warrior seeking his cousin’s mounted head, and the true identity of the corpse allegedly stalking the grounds of a rich widow’s mansion.

Along with the rest of the series, I had bought earlier Kindle versions of these three novellas. Really enjoyed the narrator and listening to these stories in the audiobook. This series is very good and builds with each book.
