Story
Jeannette Walls grew up with parents whose ideals and stubborn nonconformity were both their curse and their salvation. Rex and Rose Mary Walls had four children. In the beginning, they lived like nomads, moving among Southwest desert towns, camping in the mountains. Rex was a charismatic, brilliant man who, when sober, captured his children's imagination. Rose Mary painted and wrote and couldn't stand the responsibility of providing for her family; she called herself an "excitement addict."

Not my favorite book but I could relate to bit of the story which I liked. The performance was what got me and took me a bit to get through it unlit the story teller kept in character. I was waiting for a crescendo of story but there wasn't one I was hoping to get. But I did enjoy the ending being that the kidos turned out better. But I just kept thinking something bigger was going to happen.

I do not like the yelling in the audio book nor do I like the fake voices. Overall I feel like the book was good lots of great points to get to a better financial place. All though he never said how you could get to the information you would need to get your debts under control.

I absolutely could relate to the story line and I love that the narrator changed his tone per character. The only thing I didn't like was the music added to the story!!!

Story
As the founder of Resources for Infant Educarers (RIE), Magda Gerber has spent decades helping new mothers and fathers give their children the best possible start in life. Her successful parenting approach harnesses the power of this basic fact: Your baby is unique and will grow in confidence if allowed to develop at his or her own pace. The key to successful parenting is learning to observe your child and to trust him or her to be an initiator, an explorer, a self-learner with an individual style of problem solving and mastery.

I felt there was a lot of great information. I didn't care so much for the caregiver/child back and forth. Some of the chapters felt like a repeat of ones prior. I really had to make myself finish the book because of the redundant information just put in different scenarios. But I felt the RIE Philosophy is useful but not practical in today's society
