Story
While Laura Ingalls grows up in a little house on the Western prairie, Almanzo Wilder is living on a big farm in New York State. Here Almanzo and his brother and sisters help with the summer planting and fall harvest. In winter there is wood to be chopped and great slabs of ice to be cut from the river and stored. Time for fun comes when the jolly tin peddler visits or, best of all, when the fair comes to town.

This book has been on repeat for the last year in our house! My 6, almost 7, year old daughter loves it. My husband and I do too! The narrator is excellent and brings the story to life. Great story and life lessons. We have all the books and I highly recommend the entire little house series.

Listened to this with my 6, almost 7, year old. She loved it just as much as the first book. She cheered and clapped while following the story along. It’s a well written classic and the narration is excellent.

My 6 year old liked this along with the first book. We listen to them together. They’re very detailed, intricate and entangled stories, but it keeps her attention, lol! Narrator was ok, but we liked the narrator of the first book better. Overall, it’s a wild kid’s story, but a good listen/read.

Story
Fifteen-year-old Laura lives apart from her family for the first time, teaching school in a claim shanty 12 miles from home. She is very homesick but keeps at it so that she can help pay for her sister Mary's tuition at the college for the blind. During school vacations Laura has fun with her singing lessons, going on sleigh rides, and, best of all, helping Almanzo Wilder drive his new buggy. Friendship soon turns to love for Laura and Almanzo in the romantic conclusion of this Little House book.

Following Jane from her childhood as an orphan in Northern England through her experience as a governess at Thornfield Hall, Charlotte Brontë's Gothic classic is an early exploration of women's independence in the mid-19th century and the pervasive societal challenges women had to endure. At Thornfield, Jane meets the complex and mysterious Mr. Rochester, with whom she shares a complicated relationship that ultimately forces her to reconcile the conflicting passions of romantic love and religious piety.
