Story
To Raegan Keyes, she's the only one of her kind, but has no idea what she is. Until, one night, she finds out her unexplainable abilities aren't the only thing she needs to worry about. Suddenly, her world becomes much bigger than she ever could have dreamed. When a mysterious man named Enzo arrives, too striking to be human, Raegan learns she's not as alone as she believed. As more secrets are revealed, she's swept off to an academy for others like her, thousands of miles away from home, by a complete stranger whom she'd rather stab than travel with.

Could not stop listening!!!!

I absolutely loved this book. Most audio books I have to speed up the narration but this narrator use a great pace. She was easy to listen to and brought this story to life for me. Poor Raegan has her entire life stripped away from her in the beginning of the book only to find out she is not quite human and should have been in a school for supernatural beings. If it were not for the help of Enzo not only would she not had found out but she may have lost her life. She gets to the academy and is ready for the adventure of learning what she is.
Immediately she finds the typical school cliques, meets the mean girl, and finds a friend. She is behind on her studies but is a fast learner. Enzo seems to be the most popular boy in school and has taken an interest in her but is hot and cold. To make it more steamy, he has been assigned to train her. What she finds out quickly is she needs this training now more than ever because there is a much bigger monster coming for her and no one is powerful enough to protect her.

Great narration

I loved this audio book. I had previously read the book but decided to listen to it during my long car rides. The narrator was great! her voice changed with different characters allowing me to know which character she was speaking for helping make the experience that much better. she showed emotion through her voice and at no point did I hear her go monotone.
The story itself is amazing. Jennifer Malone Wright paints an amazing world of vampires and hunters living in a modern world determined to destroy one another. For our heroine Chloe, she finds out about the existence of vampires after her mother is killed by one. She then learns of a family secret and finds that her destiny is to become a hunter. Of course this destiny is not easy on Chloe as a father she never met is determined to find her at all costs.

Any additional comments?
I really enjoyed listening to this story. The narrator did a great job and helped to bring life to the different characters. The story seemed to end a bit quickly but I enjoyed how the story was wrapped up.

Story
Crystal Frost tells herself she isn't crazy, but sane people don't see ghosts. As her psychic abilities manifest, Crystal discovers she can see into the future, witness the past, and speak with the dead. Add blackmail to the list of things she never thought would happen to her, and you basically have her sophomore year covered. After spotting her first ghost, secrets from her family, friends, and classmates begin to surface. Uncovering secrets can be dangerous, but giving up means someone will get hurt. Again.

If you could sum up Fire in Frost in three words, what would they be?
Great journey
What did you like best about this story?
The narrator did a great job in voicing in this book. The story was delivered in a way that was easy to follow without putting me to sleep. Despite the description of the book, I assumed there would be some sort of romance in this book (maybe it will come in book 2 perhaps?). Crystal is a very likable character who seems pretty normal other than the fact that she sees Dead people. What really helped me to enjoy this book was that Crystal used her powers for good and tried to help those around her. I am interested to see what happens in the second book.
Have you listened to any of Kim Reiko’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
No
