I liked it. Maybe the sound effects and background music bothered some people but it added to the experience for me.

This was the first book I've listened to by George Friedman. He's completely changed my perspective on the wars in the middle east and the bush administration. Very very insightful book.

Story
DC politicians ship our friends and family overseas to fight in wars we shouldn't be fighting. They monitor our emails, record our phone calls, and peer into our snail mail. They spend our hard-earned cash on things no disciplined family would buy. They tell us who we can marry and what we can put in our bodies. They throw us in overcrowded prisons for smoking pot. They take lavish trips around the world, staying in five-star hotels...and it comes straight out of our paychecks.

Any additional comments?
I gave this a try because the girl who wrote it is really pretty. Seriously, look her up. Anyways it's a good listen for an introduction into the libertarian point of view. It's basically 7 hours of John Stossel if he were a millennial woman. So if you like millennial John Stossel, this is right up your alley.
The depth of the topics are a little shallow though because she runs the gamut of the conservative-libertarian platform so make sure to supplement all the points she made with your own information before you start arguing with other people at dinner parties.
Final point: it's also a little condescending like she's talking to people who haven't had any interests outside of partying and television. I'm guessing that's the target demographic but I don't think they read books anyways so it'll probably never reach their eyes. If you can get pass that, it's well written.
TL;DR -
1 basically millennial John Stossel.
2 covers libertarian topics but shallow.
3 probably made for people who don't read books but well written.

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
Marxists, Socialists, Stupid people
Has The China Price turned you off from other books in this genre?
Yes
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
Disappointment and a little anger that I bought this book. Don't trust the other reviews. They don't know what they are talking about.
Any additional comments?
This book is anti-capitalist propaganda. It's written by a journalist with no economic insight. They blame capitalism and free trade on everything. The focus is on the exploitation of third world workers though. The author blames global warming, job loss, and chinese worker not getting paid enough on capitalism and free trade. It is seriously typical socialist garbage. Get a book that is more centered on economics. Otherwise, you'll just be misinformed by this fear monger.

Is there anything you would change about this book?
I would change the part where they talk down to me about environmentalism like I'm a stupid child.
Any additional comments?
It's twist was stupid and the Environmentalism message really killed the story for me. It went from exciting suspenseful thriller to environmental PSA fast. If I wanted a couple hours of bullshit environmental propaganda, I would just marathon captain planet.
