Story
Shortly after his arrival in Uganda, Scottish doctor Nicholas Garrigan is called to the scene of a bizarre accident: Idi Amin, careening down a dirt road in his Maserati, has hit a cow. When Garrigan tends to Amin, the dictator, obsessed with all things Scottish, appoints him as his personal physician. So begins a fateful dalliance with the African leader whose Emperor Jones-style autocracy would transform into a reign of terror.

Th narrator is very talented. It was amazing to hear him switch between accents and dialects.

What a surprise!

This is not the type of book I would normally choose to read because it was about fighting and war and I expected it to be kind of a Rambo or superhero thing. I could not have been more wrong. I gripped me from the beginning and I could not leave it alone. It is about relationships, politics, determination, character and so much more. I certainly hope to see more of this type in the future.
