Would you listen to Love in a Nutshell again? Why?

Absolutely! This audiobook was so full of twists and turns! I loved the characters and the story from the beginning to end.

What does Lorelei King bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Lorelei King is absolutely amazing!! I've listened to so many of her audiobook narrations and she is unstoppable! She's yet to disappoint me.

King brings characters to life and adds so much to their personalities.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The ending! I loved the ending! :)

I breezed through this audiobook! K.J. Larsen had me hooked from the beginning and completely wrapped up in the story of Cat DeLuca.

The chemistry in Cat's big Italian family was hilarious and spot on. The story was action packed and full of mystery.

I thought Vanessa Hart did a great job narrating this title and I'll look for more of her work in the future.

Great listen!

Abby Cooper, Psychic Eye: Psychic Eye Mysteries, Book 1 Audiobook By Victoria Laurie cover art

Abby Cooper, Psychic Eye is book one in the Psychic Eye series by author Victoria Laurie. I wasn’t familar with any of Laurie’s work prior to this audiobook so I wasn’t sure what she had in store for me. I love most things supernatural, paranormal, strange, weird and off the wall. Psychics? Oh yes!

Abby Cooper is a vibrant young woman with a special gift. She’s psychic… or intuitive… or clairvoyant. Anyway you say it, she can see your future. Thankfully, she doesn’t have to stare into a crystal ball! The crew of folks in her head do all the work, guiding her to reveal things to her clients.

Life is good for Abby. She’s a homeowner, she has a successful business and a slew of clients on her schedule for the upcoming months. She has one thing missing in her life and that’s a man. She signs up for an online dating service only to be contacted by a man that lists himself as working security. They meet, they click and things move forward in a crazy way.

“Dutch”, the police detective that Abby meets on her first online date is strong and sexy. I really love this guy! He has everything going for him and just a hint of a mysterious past. He’s a great character in this audiobook and I’m looking forward to the relationship between him and Abby growing.

Abby’s clients are all unique and after reading of a young lady, her life spins out of control. She’s thrown into Dutch’s work and the two aim to catch a killer before he catches her. The suspense and story are great!

Lovin' on Fey! Great audiobook!

Overall
5 out of 5 stars

I’m not a hardcore Saturday Night Live fan, but I have caught a few episodes over the years. I loved Baby Mama and Date Night. Anytime Tina Fey has appeared, she’s made me laugh. She’s honestly funny and doesn’t prance around with fake boobs, hair or facial features. Hey, she kind of looks like you and me.

Fey’s audiobook tells the tale of her life and dishes on behind the scenes stories, inside jokes and blunders. I feel like I know her now and that I learned so much about her and her personality. I had no idea Fey was married, or that she had a daughter. (On a side note, she just announced that her and her husband are expecting their second child.)

Fey also gives us full details about portraying Sarah Palin on SNL, how she didn’t care for the idea in the beginning, and then eventually meeting Palin. And the scoop on 30 Rock? She’s got all the deets. I’ve never seen 30 Rock and now I feel like I should. She makes it sound awesome.

Take a listen, Fey does an awesome job of narrating and only added to the story by doing impersonations of Alec Baldwin and Tracy Morgan. She definitely had me laughing out loud. Peeing in cups (not her of course!), replies to web postings and more.

My review: For a few years, I’ve been fascinated with paranormal TV shows and movies. Until this, I’d never delved into a paranormal audiobook. First Grave on the Right is Darynda Jones’ first novel that hit a home run in my book. Jones covered all the bases by adding paranormal twists, sultry romance and humor.

This novel, the first in a series, centers around Charlotte “Charley” Davidson who works as a part-time private investigator with her Uncle Bob and against her will and better judgement, a full-time Grim Reaper. She doesn’t wear a cape or carry a scythe, but she does see dead people. Everywhere. For instance, Mr. Wong hangs out in a corner of her apartment and Aunt Lil, a toothless elderly woman wonders around the kitchen and “makes” coffee. Normally, Charley helps the deceased “go into the light” but sometimes things get complicated when they stick around and wear out their welcome.

As the story progresses, we follow Charley as she investigates the death of three lawyers who have came to her for help and she ends up risking her life over and over. Charley is miraculously saved numerous times by “Bad”, an Entity who has followed her since birth and tends to show up when her life is endangered. Then there’s Reyes… a boy she saw beaten by his father when she was younger. It’s really intense to see how the plot thickens and boils together when we learn the truth about Reyes, “Bad” and everyone in between.

This audiobook was recently released on February 1, 2011, a great day being that it was my 28th birthday, so it had to be good, right?! The writing is so clever and Jones has led us into a wonderful series. Charley is interesting, funny and intelligent. I can’t wait for the next novel, Second Grave on the Left to hit the market.

Narrator Review: Lorelei King has a lovely voice and definitely does this book justice. She gives Charley a youthful voice that fits her character beautifully.
