The resilience of the main character after being disappointed by friends and betrayed by husband and would be friends.

The characters were well drawn. The extent of betrayal and treachery seemed soul-crushing for the main character. The twists and turns were mostly credible.

An outstanding woman who was able to traverse life with all its highs and lows, all its good and bad

Belle’s indomitable spirit as well as her early optimism which she was lucky enough to keep within her, albeit, in a less naive way.
