Story
An air of pleasant anticipation hung so thickly over the Halls, Holds, and Weyrs of Pern that it had affected even the businesslike ways of Moreta, the Weyrwoman of Fort Weyr. Her dragon, Queen Orlith, would soon clutch; spring had made a glorious debut; the Gather at Ruatha Hold was extremely merry; and Moreta was enjoying the attentions of Alessan, the new Lord Holder of Ruatha Hold. Then, without warning, a runnerbeast fell ill.

I previously read Anne’s Pern books in the 1980’s. Now trying to listen to all of them (Pern) in chronological order. The last 3 including this one have been harder to continue/get thru but I do appreciate he tried. Pern (in general) is a wonderful series.

The relationships Fiona had and at her age were just too weird and took away from the story. This is my 3rd TM book. I miss AM’s writing style.

Then fate intervenes in the form of a virulent plague as fast-spreading as it is deadly.

Not as good as original A.M., but still good.
Reviewed: 10-20-24
I read most of original novels about 15-20 yrs ago. Now I’m reading them in chronological order. Although all Pern novels are good, this one was not as well written. It is hard to beat/meet A.M.’s original story lines, flow, and style.

The Two Towers is the second volume of J.R.R. Tolkien's epic saga, The Lord of the Rings. The Fellowship has been forced to split up. Frodo and Sam must continue alone towards Mount Doom, where the One Ring must be destroyed. Meanwhile, at Helm’s Deep and Isengard, the first great battles of the War of the Ring take shape. In this splendid, unabridged audio production of Tolkien’s great work, all the inhabitants of a magical universe - hobbits, elves, and wizards - spring to life. Rob Inglis’ narration has been praised as a masterpiece of audio.

I’m a middle aged nurse and didn’t know a lot of this info. Thank you Jen for:
-educating me
-for your commitment to accurate info
-for your support of women
-and for your sense of humor.
If I knew the information when I hit puberty it would have saved me a lot of angst. Same for when I became pregnant. It would also have helped my patients when I started my career too.
The book was enjoyable and funny AND educational all at the same time. Thank you so much for writing it !
