Story
Stop the dysfunction of unhealthy relationships and learn biblical ways to set boundaries--and, when necessary, say goodbye. Is it unloving or selfish to set a boundary with family members or friends? Are Christians ever called to walk away from a relationship that’s no longer safe or sustainable? #1 New York Times bestselling author Lysa TerKeurst deeply understands these hard questions in the midst of relational struggles.

This is not about excluding difficult or toxic people forever from your life. But learning real life boundaries to protect your own heart, emotions and physical health from the actions of others, family and friends, who continue in destructive patterns that then directly affect your life as well. A clear and biblical path is given in this book, along with prayer, to attain the desired healthy goal you want for the relationship. In addition a healthy way for you to end a relationship that no longer aligns with your values and boundaries. I am co-dependent and struggle with enforcing my boundaries resulting in my own suffering. This book is the best tool so far to do so, and I am a seasoned self-help book listener. There is also a bible study guide that is very good❤️
So much research and professional Christian counseling guidance has been presented here. I attend a counselor also and this research is absolute in it’s foundational truths for Christian counseling. Thank you Lisa for using your own heart wrenching journey to create a path forward for others to follow. God Bless!

Story
What happens when life begins to trip us up and failure starts creeping in? Many of us just keep on doing the same thing, hoping for different results. Some of us look for escape, to find a way out of the mess we feel that we've created. But neither enduring nor escaping is ultimately what we need. The answer is to allow ourselves to begin again, every day, in every part of our lives. Through engaging, lyrical prose, Leeana Tankersley shows women how to forgive themselves, develop new and healthier patterns of living, and do away with resentment and regret.

Story
Adam Frankel’s maternal grandparents survived the Holocaust and built new lives, with new names, in Connecticut. Though they tried to leave the horrors of their past behind, the pain they suffered crossed generational lines - a fact most apparent in the mental health of Adam’s mother. When Adam sat down with her to examine their family history in detail, he learned another shocking secret, this time one that unraveled Adam’s entire understanding of who he is.

I was able to identify with the character’s and the reality of Trauma that is passed down through the generations as we navigate loving our family but breaking the legacy of chaos for ourselves and future generations. Forgiveness for subjecting us to their pain all our lives is a lifelong struggle.
Borderline Personality Disorder is a complicated situation and this hit the nail on the head. Thank you for telling your story in order to help others better understand their own.

Loved this for her humor in the gravest of circumstances and her honesty in processing her illness through the eyes of her Faith. True and heartfelt, helped me remember that aging is a privilege and pity parties are OK too👍

I really loved this short book! At first I was not sure I would continue due to Ann narrating in a somewhat monotone voice...but stick with it and u will be pleasantly surprised by her dry humor and I laughed out loud at the reality of her stories. This book gives us permission to be really human and to love and forgive ourselves and others.
The best part...I felt better after hearing it😁
