I loved it !! From the “Willism’s” to the mess ups to the sadness. The power of purpose rocked me and learning to be happy with yourself is a powerful message. And what would I have if there were no boundaries? A compound in the middle of nowhere with our family, so Mr. Smith, if you’re listening.

I read this story years ago in the long form, a very thick book. And ever since then I wanted to re-read it. When I found it on Audible I thought this is great. And now that I’m done with it it’s a little sad, I really connected with the characters. And Josh, he was my favorite. A Book that is definitely worth reading and listening to.

Story
The daughter of a Legion war hero, fighting was in Andien Broxin's blood. But the battles Republic marines face on strange and alien worlds are a far cry from the vaunted, brutal, no-holds-barred conflicts fought at the edge of the galaxy by the elite legionnaires. Until a devastating war erupts right in the Republic’s stellar backyard. Newly stationed on a mid-core planet being harassed by terrorist revolutionaries, Andien and her fellow “hullbusters” find themselves right in the middle of a desperate fight for survival.

Story
In the summer of 1937, Amelia Earhart is the most famous woman in the world - a record-breaking pilot, a best-selling author, and a modern woman shattering the glass ceiling in the early days of aviation. And then she vanishes. In Tampa, Florida, 15-year-old Lizzie Friedlander spends her afternoons glued to her father’s radio, tapping into the enormity of a world she longs to travel. Lizzie can hardly believe her ears when she picks up a radio signal from a faraway source that sets her heart racing: “Amelia Earhart calling SOS!”

I was a bit disappointed by the original selection for Feb 2020, but this book was engaging.
I really enjoyed the story and learning a bit about AE, as that was way before my time and not a subject of high interest to me. But radio is more in my line and I enjoyed where the story went, though tragic as it was.

I really have enjoyed the hell divers series of books and this is no exception. Granted, it is not as good as book 1 or 2, but still a good read. I have become connected to the characters though I wish they were a little more forward thinking and less narrow minded..but we humans all have flaws. I can't wait to start listening to Book 5.
