Story
The “snowflake” rebellion and its juvenile temper tantrums are far from over. A simple glance at the daily news reveals we now stand on the cliff of a cultural crisis where vitriol has replaced virtue, identity politics trump principle, character no longer matters, and elected leaders act more like spoiled children than mature adults. In Grow Up, the nearly two-decades-long president of Oklahoma Wesleyan University and the national best-selling author of Not a Day Care, Dr. Everett Piper, presents common-sense solutions to the lunacy Americans face.

I loved Dr. Piper’s new book in how he cleverly and fiercely wrote with strong convictions to preserve and equip the next generation with what is good, beautiful, and true. Piper unabashedly spoke what was difficult and uncomfortable to people’s ears, but it was what everyone needed to hear. As a college student, reading this has been inspiring, refreshing, affirming, and helpful in pushing me to grow up to be a man. I would highly recommend this book to young and old alike.

Why You Think the Way You Do traces the development of the worldviews that underpin the Western world. Professor and historian Glenn S. Sunshine demonstrates the decisive impact that the growth of Christianity had in transforming the outlook of pagan Roman culture into one that—based on biblical concepts of humanity and its relationship with God—established virtually all the positive aspects of Western civilization.

The book is timeless. Sunshine masterly takes you through as early as ancient Greek philosophy to post-modernism. I would highly recommend this before reading anything else!
