Story
Former small-town girl turned big-city lawyer Lilly Atkins has tidily checked off her adult to-do list. In a moment of cliché, her list gets whipped out the window and run over a few times. So she heads home to Brooks. Where the creek is cool and the gossip is always hot.

Must listen (or read)

I listened to Home Is Where Your Boots Are during a road trip. I am a small town born and raised southerner who now lives in a city. My drive was a trip back home and this story had me giggling in the car. The characters are relatable for those with a similar background yet charismatic enough to entertain those with different roots. The plot is a mystery filled with romance and many pages of humor. The characters and personalities are vivid. Can't wait for a movie one day! The author and narrator grew into the characters as she read with each becoming more distinct throughout the reading. I look forward to the sequel which is already downloaded and ready for my next trip.
