Actors brought the characters to life. Listening brought a play in my mind. I was able to imagine the scene as tho I was in the room experiencing every moment. Wish all books were dramatized this way.

Story
In this award-winning Audible Studios production, Trevor Noah tells his wild coming-of-age tale during the twilight of apartheid in South Africa. It’s a story that begins with his mother throwing him from a moving van to save him from a potentially fatal dispute with gangsters, then follows the budding comedian’s path to self-discovery through episodes both poignant and comical.

Terrific!!!

Was angry when the book ended. I want more. I never enjoyed a book so much, and Trevor Noah was the only person who could be its narrator. You could hear in his voice this was his story, his life. He gave us a look into the African life not expressed before. You understood, as much as an outsider can, what it was like to live, survive. He made us see his world. His mother raised him so he could have the tools for a better life at a time it was uncertain he would be able to have. I too am a single mother of a mixed raced child, I even laughed at some similarities, sympathized over the struggle and uncertainties. I have a wonderful son in college now, couldn't be prouder, but my struggles were nothing in comparison. Patricia is my hero! I hope there is another book. Please Trevor, give us more. All books should be experienced this way. Bravo!

Wonderful

I listened daily to and from work, making my commute most enjoyable. making it at times difficult to get out of the car. Some of the characters were portrayed at times to boisterously and others to lacking but overall a wonderful work. If you are a fan of BBC this must not be missed. I have seen some of the works done for TV but this gave more depth to the characters as though I was reading the book. Bravo.
