I really enjoyed this novel and a glimpse into royal life or rather a royal prison. Realizing that this is an obvious one sided account, in many instances, it confirmed many of my (and many peoples) thoughts and ideals of the royal family's demeaning treatment of Meg and Harry. Let there be no room for hatred, prejudice, and unkindness. God is pure love. The best thing we can do is pray.

A Most Excellent Crossover Novel

This is bar none one of the best crossover novels that I have read. It contains the lovely characters of Mrs. Elizabeth Bennet, the entire Bennet Clan with the edition of the unexpected heir to Longborn, the usual suspects in P & P; but also the main characters of the novel, Emma. All of the characters remained true to form. if you are familiar with both novels, you will be surprised with the couples that end up together. You do not need to have read either works from Jane Austen to be able to understand and follow this book.

In this story Lady Catherine is only 6-years Darcy's senior and she is the youngest daughter of the Earl of Matlock's second marriage. Lady Catherine marries Mr. Bennett after both of their spouses pass away. She adopts the Bennet girls as her own and is very protective of them. I enjoyed the unfolding of the story line. it was well worth the read to see how new and traditional characters intermingled. I was not fond of the performance. I struggled to hear and understand the actress. It sounded like she was whispering though 75% of the reading plus she substituted the /th/ sound in words the ended in /t/ and /d/ particularly at the end of a sentence which drove me a bit mad. Other than the performance, the content was good.

This Pride and Prejudiced vagary is so very different from the ones that I have read. I found myself really falling in love with Lizzy's first husband who was an excellent man, husband, and father. As I was reading this book, I found myself asking how Mr. Darcy can top him. Mr. Darcy even looked up to him. So without giving any of the story line away, you will find yourself intrigued and thoroughly captivated to the very end.

I really enjoyed the P & P theme with a modern twist. It is definitely NOT 19 century Darcy or Elizabeth, for that matter. I think the author did a nice job of weaving their same essential core personalities in with the 21st century twists. There is even a modern day scandal that is relevant and separates Elizabeth and Will but the real conundrum is how one of them maneuvers around the political blocks to come together. Very enjoyable read. There's love, magmatic attraction, and angst.

Elizabeth is presumed by the time Mr. Darcy arrives at Longborn to renew his addresses. She was on a boat on her way to visit a friend off the coast of wartime France when her ship blew up. Mr. Darcy was devistated. He goes to France to find closure by recovering her body and seeking revenge on the double agent that was responsible for her death. He is injured in a botched attempted robbery. When he went to seek medical attention, he found Elizabeth unconscious but quite alive. The adventure begins when they head for home.
