What made the experience of listening to 50 Psychology Classics the most enjoyable?

How many of the background stories of the great contributors to the subject help explain their motivation and seeing how many years later society has adapted them for use.

What was the most compelling aspect of this narrative?

The delivery made it personal. You could understand and relate to the subjects.

Have you listened to any of Sean Pratt’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No, I don't think I have.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No, a lot of information for a single sitting. It was great how it was broken up. It made a subject or two ideal for commuting and eager to continue on the next trip. Like a good meal, something to savor in each bite.

Any additional comments?

Worth listening to again.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would recommend this to anyone with a love for Hip Hop or an interest in understanding it. It's the ROOTS for the Hip Hop Generation.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Big Payback?

Hard to pin-point a most memorable moment. It's like picking a favourite child.

Which scene was your favorite?

I haven't finished this anthology yet. But it is packed full of great stories that call upon sparks to engage conversations.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Certainly laughed. Brings a little personality out in those society puts on pedestals.

Any additional comments?

A must read! This should be show cased. It connects the dots of so much of what is happening now in fashion (New York's Eddie Plein as the godfather of the grill) to the rise of Harvard's Obama and the connection to the Source magazine. Thank you for creating an audible version of this book, it without question will put some flava in ya ear. Well written, researched, and delivered.

Is there anything you would change about this book?

I would change the Non-Fiction genre to Fiction. It didn't seem like it was informational, instructional or much useful to apply data. Seemed like a story being told

Would you ever listen to anything by Jon Ronson again?

He earned his third star for being an exotic voice. So if there were something of a different nature I'd not rule it out.

What three words best describe Jon Ronson’s voice?

Hello "my name is" Simon and the things I draw-er come true. (Nostalgic chalk character)

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

If I was Tony in the psychopaths hospital setting. I might even wear a fancy jacket.

Any additional comments?

Glad it was a quick listen.

Is there anything you would change about this book?

It's length. It was long. If I didn't know better, I'd have said Miles was reading it.

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

Good insight by the author in explaining the position of the book being written with the constant expletives. The way Miles spoke. It did seem extreme and not a book I could recommend to a lot of audiences.

What does Dion Graham bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

At this length, I'd have never picked up the book. That's why i choose Audible.

What else would you have wanted to know about Miles Davis’s life?

Perhaps a little more of the inspiration behind specific albums and songs.

Any additional comments?

Disappointed that he grew up in the time and place he did that left him feeling the way he did about being profiled as he implied and his impression/generalization of many of us without oppressive instincts. All this North of the Mason/Dixon line.

Would you consider the audio edition of SEAL Team Six to be better than the print version?

Yes, I insulated my garage and commuted to this one. Commuting behind the wheel is frowned upon with a book in hand.

Who was your favorite character and why?

It's based on one character, this question may be better for fiction.

Have you listened to any of Ray Porter’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I liked it and have not listened to any of his other performances that I'm aware of.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes.

Any additional comments?

Raced through this, didn't need to take notes, think too hard etc.. Sat back and enjoyed start to finish.

Would you try another book from Janet Reitman and/or Stephen Hoye?

I'd be skeptical in doing so. I don't feel there was much for surprising information introduced here.

What do you think your next listen will be?

David and Goliath by Malcolm Gladwell.

Did the narration match the pace of the story?

Yes.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Disappointment. Claims of fees raised through self-improvement courses is no surprise to anyone who's passed a facility/org, the only tale of interest was the stalking of the IRS for tax exemption.

Any additional comments?

Cults and churches attract people in need of something and the rise in those identifying with spirituality goes to show that people are seeing through this.

There really isn't a character in this format.

Which scene was your favorite?

Again, no scene in this.

It's a book of tag lines.
