Story
The Way of Fire and Ice reimagines Norse Paganism with mystical practices and rituals for today's world as well as tips for building community and resisting fascism. This approach to working with Norse deities and beliefs is a living, adaptable tradition, representing a strong alternative to the reconstructionist perspectives of Asatru and Heathenry.

A basic “how to” guide for getting into Norse Paganism.
Reviewed: 07-10-22
I picked this up mainly because I saw so many trolls hating on this book online. As someone who has been practicing Norse Paganism I was interested to see what they took offense with.
First I want to address the many reviews that call this book “left-leaning drivel” or “pro-antifa” anyone who says this is a troll, likely racist, likely a white supremacist, and most definitely not someone who understands the teachings of Heathenism. If you are anti-Antifa (i.e. a fascist) you need to take a deep look at yourself and come to see that you are supporting white supremacy, racism, homophobia, and authoritarianism. If you think Antifa is bad you need to look deeply at where you are getting your news from. Is it owned by the Murdock group…that’s a problem. Is it subscription based, npr, bbc, the guardian, or other journalistically sound sources? Then you know that Antifa is not a terrorist group.
As a pagan, I fully support the use of this book. While it is a little low on details, it has a wonderful appendix that I suggest any pagan to dive into. There are many great resources cited here, and as you grow your Heathen practice.
I really appreciate the look at declaration 127. We are an inclusive group. You are welcome as long as you don’t hate others for their ingrained traits. A person has no control over their skin color, the socio-economic status they were born into, or their sexual orientation.

Story
For a thousand years the ash fell and no flowers bloomed. For a thousand years the Skaa slaved in misery and lived in fear. For a thousand years the Lord Ruler, the "Sliver of Infinity," reigned with absolute power and ultimate terror, divinely invincible. Then, when hope was so long lost that not even its memory remained, a terribly scarred, heart-broken half-Skaa rediscovered it in the depths of the Lord Ruler's most hellish prison.

Really a great story!

While I read the Stormlight archive first. And think that series is better than the mess Bourne series. I also realize the Stormlight archive is much harder to get through. As such I think this is a great series to get into reading Brandon Sanderson with.

Story
Neil Gaiman has long been inspired by ancient mythology in creating the fantastical realms of his fiction. Now he turns his attention back to the source, presenting a bravura rendition of the great northern tales. In Norse Mythology, Gaiman fashions primeval stories into a novelistic arc that begins with the genesis of the legendary nine worlds; delves into the exploits of the deities, dwarves, and giants; and culminates in Ragnarok, the twilight of the gods and the rebirth of a new time and people.

I make sure to have this downloaded anytime I go camping! Sitting around the fire at the end of a long day listening to Mr. Gaiman read these stories is always a pleasure!
These shorts follow the Norse pantheon and their wacky adventures! I highly recommend!

Story
The Mesan Alignment: a centuries-old cabal that seeks to impose its vision of a society dominated by genetic rank onto the human race. Now the conspiracy stands exposed by spies Anton Zilwicki and Victor Cachat - one an agent of Honor Harrington’s Star Kingdom of Manticore, the other a Havenite operative. The outing of the Alignment has turned the galaxy’s political framework topsy-turvy. Old coalitions have disintegrated. New alliances have been born.

Classic Weber and Flint, A Great Story!
Reviewed: 02-29-16
I have read and listened to all of the books in the Honor Harrington books, Shadow of Saganami, and the Crown of Slaves series. I just finished Cauldron of Ghosts--again--after going back to On Basilisk Station and reading all of the books chronologically. (A fantastic way to spend the winter by the way). And David Weber never ceases to amaze me. His books are phenomenal and I can't wait for more in the main storyline (Manticore Ascendant is good but...) I really want to know what comes next for The Grand Alliance, Torch, Maya, Mesa, the Alignment/RF, and the Sollies.
They (Weber/Flint) once again left the future totally open with lots of little hints and I want to know where those hints lead!
