Awesome book and the narrator brings it to life. I was glad to see that there is another book in this series coming. I don't want the books to end much less the series. This book has plenty of action, but also has some things that will make you think about what living in a digital world really means. I highly recommend this series.

Story
On his last combat deployment, Lt. Cmdr. James Reece's entire team was killed in an ambush that also claimed the lives of the aircrew sent in to rescue them. But when those dearest to him are murdered on the day of his homecoming, Reece discovers that this was not an act of war by a foreign enemy but a conspiracy that runs to the highest levels of government. Now, with no family and free from the military's command structure, Reece applies the lessons that he's learned in over a decade of constant warfare toward revenge.

This is a great book with plenty of action. The author did a great job of keeping the reader/listener engaged. If I could have I would have listened to the entire book in one sitting. I am looking forward to the show that is based on this book. Great job.

Great story and the narrator did a great job. I would recommend this bundle to anyone who enjoys thrillers involving secret plots, heros, and special forces type missions. The ending of book 2 leaves room to continue the story without leaving you hanging like other books I have listened to.

Thrilling story with people doing things all over the world trying to figure out what is threatening civilization as we know it. The narrator does an excellent job with inflection and accents so you know without a doubt which character is speaking. Great book if you like spy thrillers, sci-fi, dystopian worlds etc.

It took a long time to get nowhere.
Reviewed: 06-03-21
Tolstoy does a decent job of describing the lives of his characters, however he doesn't really have them do anything of note. For the length of this book you would expect a lot of things to happen that culminate in some sort of big event, but nope. I was disappointed in this book especially since I have always heard that it is a classic. Maybe I missed something but it seemed like the point he was trying to make could have been made in a much shorter book. The narrator did a good job overall, but I can't say that I would recommend that you listen to this book. That is just my take though.

Professors Schweikart and Allen have now revised, updated, and expanded their book, which covers America's long history with an appreciation for the values that made this nation uniquely successful.

It was nice to hear the story of America told in a proud but honest way. This book doesn't leave out completely America's flaws, but instead focuses on what makes America exceptional in the world. I recommend this book highly if you are looking for a book that tells the American Story from the beginning up to 2014.
