This book is great, but I have owned it twice with different narrators and the book just didn’t sink in and I wasn’t able to engage it properly. Ray Porter is one of my favorite Narrators and I think the best of all time. So when I saw he narrator a version of this book it was a must. And his narration changes the book, it clear, concise, and his readings always feel purposeful. This book has a lot to offer so multiple listens is recommended, but man Ray Porter is the man!

Story
In 1980, a freshman congressman was gunned down in Rhode Island, sending shockwaves through Washington that are still reverberating over four decades later. Now, with the world on the brink of war and a weakened United States facing rampant inflation, political division, and shocking assassinations, a secret cabal of global elites is ready to assume control. And with the world’s most dangerous man locked in solitary confinement, the conspirators believe the final obstacle to complete domination has been eliminated. They’re wrong.

Story
In his early 20s, Curtis Jackson, known as 50 Cent, rose to the heights of fame and power in the cutthroat music business. A decade ago, the multi-platinum selling rap artist decided to pivot. His ability to adapt to change was demonstrated when he became the executive producer and star of Power, a high-octane, gripping crime drama centered around a drug kingpin's family. The series quickly became "appointment" television, leading to Jackson inking a four-year, $150 million contract with the Starz network - the most lucrative deal in premium cable history.

Amazing Great Book
Reviewed: 07-20-22
Surprisingly enough, well not really, this book is one of the best books I have read/listened to. I know 50 was intelligent and extremely strategic but to hear the behind the scenes and thought process into everything is pretty extraordinary. The book is written at A+ quality and now listening to this book I could not imagine anyone one else narrating it, 50 voice and articulation creates one of the best audio experiences I have had. He is right up there with listening to Matthew McConaughey read his own book.
This is a must read/listen to.

Misleading title. Not what I hoped
Reviewed: 04-02-22
This story should read “My story and my brief words about my part in recovery efforts of Extortion 17”. These was an untold story of rangers or completely about leaving no man behind. I expected from the book to be beginning to end a story that told the Rangers deployment, experiences, missions etc and ever facet of their recovery. Instead over half the book talks about his life and what he did, I, I, I. It felt like a whole book about patting himself on the back and boasting about himself. Disappointed on this book, it’s a bad read and misleading. Only appreciated the brief portion is actually discussed the recovery efforts because that why I bought the book, to learn what happened during that time. Not a fan. If you want to ready specifically what this book title states it will be about, try and find another book. If I new it was essentially a memoir about this individual then I would have passed.

Will, did what Will does. He created not only a book of his life, not only an audible, but created an entire experience that takes you on his journey of life as a co-pilot. The production build into this audible brings everything to life. He has set the bar to how every audible book should be told. Gone should be the days of just someone reading you a bedtime story, welcome the new days as someone provides you a listening experience to bring the book to reality and allows you to close your eyes and put yourself where that page/scene is.
