Thank you for changing my training and thinking

This has helped me grasp (not understand) a new perspective! I try to be very open to ideas and training, which obviously coming from my background as a man, is hard to wear a woman’s perspective. The insight and stories combined with well timed humor and wit provide such value and context to what it takes to make the best decision on how to defend yourself! What tools, ethics, laws, and equipment you need to understand the move into the realm of training to competence and repeatable action. I thank my amazing instructor and friend Heather for this recommendation!
Kathy thank you for your time and effort writing and Kristi for bringing it here!

Story
Rory Miller's Facing Violence: Preparing for the Unexpected includes seven elements that must be addressed to bring self-defense training to something approaching complete. These elements are: legal and ethical implications, violence dynamics, avoidance, counter-ambush, breaking the freeze, the fight itself, and the aftermath. Training that dismisses any of these areas leaves you vulnerable.

Refocusing my training after this book!

Great perspective and stories to help drive home proper training for escape, deescalation, minimal action to stop a force, then escalating to neutralize a threat. Define those steps for you, legal action, and state laws to best inform your training!
Thank you for the book Rory and Barry!
